Dad’s Follies is the oldest and largest antique dealer specializing in antique metal chocolate moulds in the country; by some accounts, the largest in the world. We began specializing in only antique metal moulds in 1972, settling on steel and copper chocolate moulds and pewter ice cream moulds. Over the years we have offered a small assortment of pewter Springerle cookie moulds, cast iron and zin
c barley candy (or “clear toy”) moulds, and cast iron cake moulds. We attend antique shows from Michigan to Virginia and Tennessee to Massachusetts selling our moulds, and have also sold moulds from our website since 1998. Our impressive antique show displays have generated notable acclaim, and as a result of magazine requests have written articles about antique metal moulds for Collector’s Eye, Antique Trader, Country Living and Country Home magazines. We have also appeared on the Martha Stewart TV show, Collectible Treasures TV show, The Antique Road Show and several local television shows to display our significant collection. We have also served on the Warman's Antique Price Guide Board providing expertise for the Food Mould Section of their price guide, and we consulted with Judith Miller's Collectibles Price Guide editing and providing the examples and prices for the section on Chocolate Moulds. Vintage Pewter Ice Cream molds became our passion over 40 years ago with Antique Metal Chocolate molds closely following. As our passion for the Antique Chocolate molds and Vintage Pewter Ice cream molds has grow, our knowledge of the Antique Metal Chocolate molds and Vintage Pewter Ice Cream molds has developed.
