Jeans bio: I started turning in 2010 when I went with my husband to a woodworkers' show in Nashville just so I didn't have to go to work that day! As I was not a woodworker, I quickly became bored and stopped to watch at a Learn To Turn booth. One of the gentlemen there asked if I wanted to turn a pen. I still have and use that pen and I still turn! I started by turning pens and pencils and many similar items, but after a few months of making lots of them, I decided that I had turned everything there was to turn. THEN I started looking around and noticing all the things that were round and began experimenting with bowls and vessels and jewelry and...and... It was suggested that because I was new to woodturning, Easy Wood Tools would offer a good way to learn how to turn with a minimal learning curve. Then I could transition over to traditional tools. I just never gave up on the Easy Wood Tools. Almost anything I want to accomplish can be done with Easy Wood Tools. I may have to hold the tool differently or make the cut a little differently but being creative usually works. Belonging to a couple of woodturning clubs has provided excellent teachers, instruction and insight into what can be turned. I teach turning classes and demonstrate techniques for using Easy Wood Tools at various venues.
