Scrapbook quilts are becoming popular, we had fun making this one, each is so very different and unique. This quilt has such a variety of colors patterns and shapes that made it fun to design. I like to go an extra mile when possible for my clients. In this case, the daughter used to work at Dutch Bros but did not save any of the shirts. We were able to find a Dutch Bros shirt for her and incorporated into the quilt. We also used a fun coffee shop print fabric for the back. The binding was a lot of fun, mom found this leopard print pijamas we were able to incorporate into the binding.

Ok, this one has become my favorite quilt, I just love how it looks (or maybe I am biased since turquoise is my favorite color). Designing this quilt was so much fun, specially for Kris (my future husband 😊) as he remembered the times his own daughters were in dance. I just love how this one turned out, the colors and design were so fun!

This quilt is made from daughters dance/pom shirts and jackets. What is so unique about this quilt, the border is pijamas made by her grandma as she was growing up! I integrated them all around the perimeter and added grandmas message tags throughout the design. On the back, I added a personalized message and used one of the sweater laces to sew her initials. For the quilting I was able to find a really neat star pattern that added to the cool look of the entire quilt!

I was honored to make a retirement quilt for this amazing couple who combined have been teaching for 58 years! Hearing the stories of how much they love and care for their student is so inspiring.

For this quilt I used the school’s annual theme shirts as well as some of their favorites: colors, sports, and animals. I also integrated the school logo cross into the quilt.

The story of this quilt touches my heart.

Mom lost her son about 13 years ago to leukemia. He was only in his early 20s. It took a lot of courage for her to put all his shirts together and I feel very fortunate to have been able to make this quilt.

One of the things I love the most about this quilt is how different it is from your normal quilts, it’s a scrapbook quilt so no squares or symmetry. Things don’t have to always be perfect and even, because things can be messy and still be beautiful.

Mom shared several stories about him, he was a selfless person and enjoyed the simple things. Those stories is what inspired the back of this quilt due to his love of superheroes. His urn had the saying of “I am Batman”, so I included that on the back of the quilt, with a little extra touch. I did the binding using multiple shirts to incorporate multiple colors from the quilt.
