Introducing my menstrual relief tea blend, 4oz for $6!

I may have mentioned it once or twice or half a dozen times, but I have endometriosis, and for those who don’t know, it’s a very painful condition that affects one out of every ten menstruating individuals. Despite how common it is, the condition is rarely diagnosed because of how difficult it is to do so. Anyway, because I have tried and failed to find an effective relief for pain, I turned to old herbal remedies, and this is the blend that I created!

This blend is my personal tea of choice on my worst days. It has mugwort that I foraged in my neighbourhood, white willow bark and lavender flowers. Mugwort is an old remedy that has been used for menstrual and even menopausal relief for centuries. White willow bark is still used today as a form of pain relief and an anti-inflammatory, but you might recognise it as aspirin or salicylic acid. Lavender flowers are a common remedy for both stress and pain relief. Mix all three together and you’ve got the perfect concoction for pain relief! Personally, I don’t think mugwort smells or tastes very good, so I like to add in a little honey for flavouring. But don’t be fooled by the taste - I personally feel relief from cramps in as little as half an hour! I also like to pair it with my mugwort salve.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not intended to replace any medications and there is no scientific evidence that any of these herbs alone relieve symptoms of PMS. However, these are the herbs that have been used historically for a variety of pain relief.

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! Black cats still to this day have a certain bias against them that they’ve done nothing to deserve. When I adopted Juniper, he was the last of his siblings to get adopted and coincidentally, the only black cat among the litter. I couldn’t understand how anyone could say no to that beautiful face!

Also introducing Willa to our spooky clan of kitties! Let’s get those black kitties out of the shelters and into our loving homes!

Samhain is right around the corner, and I can already feel the veil getting thin. As the veil thins, we may receive visits or messages from ancestors on the other side who may be trying to tell us something. I’ve already been receiving messages in dreams. Don’t be afraid to open up your mind to those trying to reach you - they may have important words for your future.

I celebrate this time of year with an altar featuring tokens, prayer cards, even names written on paper of those that I have lost. It brings them closer to me once more and reminds me that while they are gone from this physical plane, they are not gone from us. We are our ancestors, and they live on within us.

While the veil allows ancestors and loved ones to pass through to our world, do not forget that the veil is open to dark spirits as well. Stay vigilant and protect yourself. Place candles (not real flames - let’s not start fires!) in your windows to guide the spirits back to the veil, place protective herbs like sage or rosemary above your doors and beneath your pillows. Stay safe!

A blessed Samhain to all, and may your ancestors provide you with answers to questions you may be asking.

On nice days, I like to go for walks and see what I can forage and/or identify. Today, I’ve found some wild yarrow in my neighbourhood, as well as this beautiful orange butterfly milkw**d and some wild yellow indigo. I harvested quite a few yarrow stalks and flowers, as yarrow is an incredibly useful plant. From providing relief from toothaches and common colds to even being useful in reducing bruising, yarrow is very versatile and very good for our bodies. Perhaps soon, yarrow will be making its way to our stock? 🌿

Happy first birthday to our little mascot, Juniper! Eight months ago, I adopted this tiny, shy little kitten from and he has blossomed into this beautiful boy who is so sweet and so loving. My life has been so bright with him in it! Thank you again to For Kitty’s Sake for bringing this beautiful boy into my life!

Both honey and calendula have incredible healing benefits. Honey itself has antibacterial properties, while calendula is used to soothe and heal wounds, hydrate and nourish skin and, believe it or not, even slow the development of wrinkles and reduce scarring! Introducing our Chickw**d Salve! 🌿

Chickw**d is a common w**d that grows in most places throughout the world and while it seems like a nuisance, you’d be surprised to know that this little plant is actually quite useful! Chickw**d has a lot of benefits, including but not limited to treating asthma, constipation, menstrual pain, and relieving inflammation and itchiness. My personal favourite! Bug bite relief!

I don’t know about you, but I seem to be a mosquito magnet. They love me, and I sure wish they didn’t! The mosquito bites drive me insane and make being outside in the summer miserable for me, so I created this! I saw the chickw**d growing all over my yard, so I looked into it and found it has incredible benefits against bug bites! I tried some chickw**d salve on my first mosquito bite of the season, and within ten minutes, the swelling had already gone down and it wasn’t nearly as itchy! It also helped it to heal faster!

Introducing our Mugwort Salve! 🌿

Mugwort has been used for centuries as an herbal remedy for menstrual cramps, hormonal fluctuations, and even symptoms of menopause, but it’s also been used as a form of topical pain relief, anxiety relief, and to boost energy. Take a little bit of this salve and rub it on your temples, your wrists, and even your abdomen for relief!

Personally, I suffer from endometriosis, which for those that don’t know is a very painful condition that effects one out of every ten women (or anyone with a uterus) of reproductive age. I’ve done medical pain relief for years, but it’s just gotten to the point where it no longer works for me, so I’ve turned to herbal remedies instead. We officially have our first product ready for sale! Wisteria is very sweet, which means it's loaded with local pollen from busy butterflies and bees. Ingesting local pollen from plants like wisteria can help your immune system adapt and fight off local allergies.

Wisteria Syrup: $14 (12oz)
