It’s a rainy, cloud-covered weekend, so a little color feels especially welcome.
A fresh arrangement can bring life to a room, brighten the mood, and add a moment of joy to your day.
Sometimes it really is the little things.
Be safe today, everyone. 🙏🏾

From construction to completion. 🔨

This project came together one decision at a time, from framing and construction to the final layers that made the room feel complete.

I love looking back at the process because the finished space means so much more when you remember everything it took to get there.

And that stained-glass window was absolutely worth waiting for.

Hey everyone it’s Amber and today we’re enjoying all the colors, textures, patterns, greenery, and architecture that adorn Kuala Lumpur! I came for the food but I also couldn’t help but obsess over the interiors. Malaysia is an amalgam of traditional Malay, Indian, Chinese, Middle Eastern, British, Portuguese and indigenous influences and it shows not only in the food but also in how their spaces are arranged and designed. Take a look for yourself!

And of COURSE I had to throw in some music from Yuna, one of my fave Malaysian artists 💚.

What’s on the Design Table Tuesday: Art

I have to show you these mirrors up close. The frames are so sculptural, and the little wooden shapes remind me of something a shoemaker would make. Then there’s the white canvas, with its gathered texture and white and gray brushstrokes. I love how the black frame sets it off.
The floral is a giclée with oil painted over it. It leans traditional in that gold frame, but the painting itself feels a little abstract. And that large abstract is an original oil painting. We pulled the fuchsia from it for the lamps nearby, and I love seeing that color carry into the room.
Which piece would you stop to look at? If you’re enjoying What’s on the Design Table Tuesday, tap like and share it with a friend.

Hey everyone it’s Amber again! Today we’re celebrating flowers, orchids in particular, AND Asian art in Singapore!

The National Orchid Garden of Singapore has a plethora of different orchid species; pictured here are only a few! Afterwards, I attended a special art tour at the St. Regis in Singapore. My favorite piece was actually the chandelier on the second slide, which is a boat in memory of John Astor, the founder of the St. Regis. He was aboard the Titanic and died when it went down, as he gave his seat to his wife. 🥺

Which painting and/or orchid is your favorite? 🤩🇸🇬

Design Table Tuesday | Let’s Talk Rugs
There’s a lot more beneath our feet than color and pattern.
This week on the design table, we’re talking rugs: hand-knotted versus hand-tufted, wool and bamboo, pile height, thickness, construction, and some of the details we consider when selecting the right rug for a space.
Because two rugs may look equally beautiful, but how they’re made and how they perform can be very different.
A little bit of everything is on the table today. See you next Tuesday.
