One of the more fun things for making the canisters was heating up the heat treating foil to get oxides on the foil so it doesn’t weld to the canister or billet. Seemed to work pretty well! Who loves all the cool colors???

So my second forging project seems to have gone well! A huge thanks to Peter Martin Adam Klumb and Cory Martin for helping me and providing some amazing tools! Ira Houseweart also helped providing some tips that has worked for him.

As always, I wish I snagged more photos and videos from the trip. I will cherish these memories always! Bug Cory and Peter to post some of their awesome projects from the day!

The stainless damascus is 8 layers per side of CPM154 and AEBL with a MagnaMax core. Have to anneal them sometime the next few days.

Some of you are super fast! The YouTube video going over how to assemble and the most common questions I get at out the SL Stone Holder is up!

The first production run of SL Stone Holders are complete! So incredibly thankful for all your guys support! I really feel like this is one of the best ways to speed up the hand sanding process.

These holders are designed to work with 1/4” x 1/2” stones but 1/8” x 1/2” stones will work also. The 1/8” stones can just break a little easier.

Big thanks to Beck Tools for machining the aluminum components of these tools! They would not be nearly as nice without his help on them!
