As a teen I always daydreamed of this almost New York old industrial style loft living. Blending old, repurposed with a modern twist to things. Leaning more masculine like speakeasy’s or cigar lounges. Chesterfield sofas, art with color, vintage oddities that evoke an emotion or start a convo. You know the ones with those old freight elevators and the entire space is open concept, dramatic high ceilings, old windows with views, yet still had an edgy vibe? BUT NOW take that concept put me in the middle of ranch land with Mountain View’s & horses 🤪 Ive always been the one that goes against the grain and WANTS to be different. I guess because it feels like art and feeds the soul. When I shop and curate items for my storefront even back in the day with all furnishings and decor I wanted items that were different than what was trending. I shop around the competition to make sure to NOT buy what others have, not to copy/imitate or go with what’s selling the most. Some say copying is the biggest form of flattery-wrong. It’s the death of unique creative individuality. When we hunt for inspo we gather many faves, but it’s what you DO with all of that info and transform it into something all your own. I truly like a clean and simplified aesthetic but with just enough “stuff” it doesn’t feel empty and stark. I like rustic vintage elements, color in a bold and well executed way, touches of modern lines, and enough warmth that it’s always cozy. There has to be flow and cohesiveness just as much as unexpected wow moments. So if someone says you have an eclectic taste or vision, or this is very different from anything I’ve seen, I would have never thought to do that in this space-that’s when you hit a home run for me. It has to fit the clients personality while aging well and not trending out, but also pushing the client a little out of their comfort zone. They always thank me after. If you were to go through my oodles of inspo saved you may gather my vibe, but you also may look through many like these photos and have a hard time pin pointing what I like IN the photo and how I would apply it to a space. So here’s your reminder to take the risk and break the rules! 💫

Picture working for an entire year your boss just says sorry No you aren’t getting paid. Even though they knew how much they owed you. They know you did your job and did it well. Then the lies and lies about my husbands character and how he runs his business. Mind blown 🤯 Claiming he was never on the job site I know that’s a lie Bcuz many of us were there often even our project manager and office assistant. Tried to claim communication wasn’t there which again baffling Bcuz he is thorough. He calls and talks to his clients multiple times a week, evenings weekends even when we are on vacation. He gets things handled quickly and he makes sure things are done correctly. His paperwork and invoicing are always there and clear easy to read. Every thing they go over on details of the home down to the smallest thing he always checks and makes sure. The most hurtful part was seeing how broken he was after that meeting I mean a flowing of emotion. He kept telling me and our kids he’s so sorry this happened he really wanted to build our house this year. So we reached out to our support group of friends coworkers even clients were calling us up. I kid you not I had 3 diff people offer us $ to make sure our subs could get paid. We said that is amazing but we would sell off things we have, land, cattle, vehicle, equipment, anything to make sure our subs get paid first because they don’t deserve to go through this either. They did their work and they have families to feed. The huge outpouring of love from so many that prayed over us, that testified to our character and how we are good Christian honest people that do high quality work. Being vulnerable is scary at times but I believe living in your truth & transparency and showing others the real people behind the businesses it’s always so much better. It fills my love cup back up and our calling to use our work to Glorify God and help bring others to Christ. I love the song by Maddie & Tae “People Need People” our support system we have out there-again thank you ALL for being there. I have faith there’s blessings that will eventually come our way and we will have further testimony to speak on the goodness of God!

Well things got crazy busy as usual and interest rates spiked and we knew once we started getting bids in we would want to tweak things on the floorplan and renderings. I’m a budget type of girl that loves the thrill of the hunt for a great deal. I also know it’s important to our family to not be “house poor” we want to build something that is our forever home and build it with our style and vision but not over do anything. We currently have investments sitting in a beach property, a downtown building we want to gut remodel to move our offices/showroom & our retail storefront to expand! So that will be a lengthy and $$$ journey to take as well. This year was suppose to be the year we finally got to build. My kids have been so incredibly patient for 6 years in a very tiny barndominium that is smaller than most apartment. 5 ppl in. 2bed/1bath. Our 4 year old still sleeps with us and my girls turning into teenagers are tired of bunk beds and not having space of their own. They deserve it, we deserve it for how hard we have been working. Many client custom homes, remodels, luxury mountain homes in Bozeman MT that we will be going back for more when their weather clears up and any commercial jobs that come our way. Well for those that don’t know-we just found out completely taken off guard and just devastated that clients of ours got moved into their home and everything was great the entire process no complaints or any Unkind things between either party. They hurt us deep. So I shared asking for prayers please. For my hard working honest husband. For our business. Hard prayers for our vendors/subs in the same boat as us. It’s a real gut punch feeling like you can’t breathe when people say they are going to pay you, you’ve built up trust, and then an entire year (10mo to build the home). Final payment time comes and just NO. They won’t pay. We know our subs are some of the best in the business. They work on multi million dollar homes all over the city. They are all good hard working people living payday to payday expecting to be paid for work completed…cont. next post!

It’s been a minute yet again since I’ve posted! Whew life is so crazy busy I can’t wait for the slower pace one day where I can sit outside and enjoy this short hood weather we have here in Texas before the 100* heat hits us! Our floorplan is perfected and I have zero complaints we still have 2 architect meetings left where he would really finalize them with all the fun renderings and bring it to life. I’ve been dragging my feet as I am a perfectionist and I want the house to be…different is a good word. I want it to be out of the box unique, bold, but also something that nestles into the landscape we will create over time where the home can just age SO well with time. I really lean into texture and antique touches with an edgy twist. The exterior of the home and the future surrounding landscape I think will be my favorite part of the entire project. Furnishings & decor really add that extra layer that brings things all together that will be a whole second chapter after the build that will be slow but worth the attention to details. Until then we have been getting bids and actually working on ideas for our commercial building as we are going to set up our office on one side (to get out of paying on 3 diff locations lol 😂) but it’s a fun mini project to throw into the mix of other client projects. How to make an office that is LITERALLY under construction needing a full remodel function and be enjoyable as we work on other areas of the building. My mood boards and drawings and visions in my head are a happy escape to dive into! I’m looking forward to some new construction client builds happening all of them are truly unique in their own way and I am blessed to be able to help walk them through their journey. Other build projects are coming to and end and I’m always sad for it to end but thrilled to see clients finally get to grab those keys and call it home sweet home. Here’s to the start of a busy and thriving week! Hope everyone has a fabulous week too! 🫶

Hubs said it’s time I start making the fun selections to bid! I’ve been very torn on vent hood options. I want it unique and oversized on scale. Our kitchen is vaulted and we will bring the countertops up with the ledge. No cabs above near the hood possibly light sconces if needed. I always loved the bell shape but XL size, and I do love the popular hoods that their arms hit the counter and storage-but realistically 👎 Bacon grease breakfast mornings everything will be covered to clean up so NO white coming that far down for us! Functional is key for us. Also we know some have complained about how low some can be and hitting their head. The top if done in plaster would die into the wall. I’ve also loved the mixed metal with grommets and straps in diff metal finishes or even hammered because I love anything artistically made. Mixing metals and color would help bring together dining and great room as well. 6th photo I love the open display shelving above fridge area for vases. I also love the wood and marble reveal edge detail on 2nd island. The last pic I’ve always loved this very muted putty grey for cabs to go with stained wood first island and mixing in black details. Would you do an oversized plaster hood or mixed metal in this space? The sink side is all windows and some floating shelving so no backsplash and other side is all built in appliances & display cab. Onto sourcing all lighting wish me luck! Kid in a candy store so many you love love 🥰 I may have changed my mind for cluster pendants over island to now using those down both hallways right and left when you enter the home. There will be breaks of beams in the ceiling but the 2 diff size pendants I have could be a wow factor looking right & left down both hallways 🙌 When one thing changes it snowballs into others as you intentionally and strategically want to accomplish your non negotiable and wow factor moments you have imagined. Y’all-I am still stuck on pool bath full wall tile and floor tile, and master wet room floor. Those are so difficult when you think about cleaning maintenance but thinking outside of the box to try to have something slightly different from anyone else. 📸 Insta inspo pic

So then you would have major equity in your casa and land. Maybe you can pay it all off with a well thought out plan and be free of debt. Maybe you can build that pool. That giant greenhouse. Get a cow for milk or another to butcher. Take on chickens. Build that awesome underground bunker and have all your emergency supplies. Camp outside with the kids and teach them survival skills. Walk and work out more now that you watch less tv. Now that you care a bit less about materialistic things you buy practical useful things. You read the word of God and have a deeper relationship with him and life just feels lighter and easier each morning. Maybe it prepared you for difficult times ahead you didn’t know would happen. Maybe you can build your family member or mother a small tiny house or addition onto yours. You can build that workshop you always wanted so you can do Gods work or have a back up plan side hustle if the world goes hay wire. The options are endless. It will be hard to get any straight answers from news media, our own gov who won’t tell us how bad things really are, and quite frankly maybe even not full disclosure from banks and mortgage loan officers, title companies. Why? Because everyone in the world right now are all uneasy about their own careers and ways to feed their families if things drastically change. Those are my feelings being honest and transparent. We are still in limbo on what we are going to do. If rates come down we may pull the trigger and go fast and build it much cheaper than what we truly wanted. We are willing to sell and let things go. But if it doesn’t happen we also know how to expand our barndo and make work for however long we have left of this life and we spend each and every day more intentionally with the ones we love. Longer hugs, words we want to say and not wait, making memories even if it’s simple and free board games and popcorn at home. I hope reading these long posts maybe inspired someone who has been wondering and worried. Im here if you wanna dissect your situation and talk scenarios. Im always brutally honest and always want what’s best for those I know. Praying for all of us 🙏🙏🙏 Jesus Christ is the way.

Don’t give up on your dreams. Just have a plan that is maybe less bells & whistles and more simplified Bcuz the less you owe the gov the better if things go wild. Those fancy things can always be added on and DIY later. If we build that’s our motto! You may have some big decisions to make on how much debt to take on be stay where you are. I would weigh out the pros and cons on paper every single thing and get advice from others like us? Friends? Family. Think about diff scenarios. I’ve seen many as kids grow up they downsize and don’t want a house they want to travel in an RV, I’ve seen some build bigger to fit in laws to care for, we bought enough hoping all the kids want to build on our property and stay close one day, some may wish to sell and move to a totally new place. Land is always a great asset to have, being our further less neighbors is a plus, not having strict HOA’s can be ideal, smaller schools aren’t always too rated but sometimes they have the best childhood in one. Lots of parents homeschooling now. If you are worried about amenities don’t be…learning to love your land and buying in bulk on on your way home becomes habit and the drive is never bad we’ve been doing it for over 15 years and it’s still better than Dallas traffic any day. We don’t miss amenities that often. Bcuz we learned the trade off was a simpler slowed down way of living from a busy hectic work day. Our kids have never said they wish we had our old place back. They love having room to run outside and play, they love their smaller schools. Just truly rethink over your floorplan and where you can save money at and maybe downsize a tad if interest rates climb to double digits. And always hope for the best that rates come down and you can refi to snag those. We are learning to let go of things. Directv, subscriptions, how to finance money better to prepare for an unknown future. It’s an adjustment for sure but one that needed to happen regardless what happens in the world because focus needs to come back to family together and values and be apart of where you live and making memories there. Who knows you may build modestly and some bizarre reason things turn right side up -part 6

Part 4-we are prepared to make sacrifices. Like the kids are watching pureflix, war room, Christian movies and music, reading their bibles and apps on their phones. Hoping to get us baptized as a family soon in the river as a special private moment. We never thought we would be preppers until I heard that one podcast where the guy trains navy seals and go to survive long periods. He’s saying we are talking about power goes out for 2 weeks and power company turns it back on. He said no what if power grid is taken out by cyber security attack or EMP. What if cars phones don’t work. Do people have a map compass know how to reach people or get to them? He said in all honesty 90% of people die the first year from starvation, crime, disease. This is why I will still suggest if you want that dream further out from out from the city. If it’s a good investment because you can homestead and survive there. Maybe you can build kids their own tiny homes, Let in laws stay in a camper on the land, who knows right? Just think about all the what ifs. Again NONE of this can happen. But the harder pill to swallow is the economics guy on the podcast told Jordan Peterson as he was flying over to him to look out his window and watch how near Ireland they are dozing down forests of trees. Trees that take ✌️ years to dry out to use to warm homes. He said in Ireland men were in the streets happy and drunk. Happy Covid lockdown was lifted. He said in the most serious voice they have no idea just how bad it’s about to get. He was scared and sad for them. So while you plan to build your home plan for that wood burning fireplace option, 1 cord of wood is like a small car how much does your home need to survive harsh winters? How long will we have to be on our own until things change whatever that change means or looks like? God says to not fear 365 times in the Bible and I say that a lot Bcuz we aren’t suppose to fear and let it hurt us. But the Bible does say to prepare and a lot of us including us we’re busy trying to build up a portfolio and a nice set up for our kids futures that thinking of prepping wasn’t even on the radar until now. Your home doesn’t always have to be bigger. -Part 5

Part 3-I dont say these things to be doom and gloom. I say them because we care and want people to take it seriously even if we are wrong and it’s decades away. Still preparing, building a community network of like minded people, and making God a top priority in your life and kids will be for the better never worse. We all know the WEF, the WHO and the globalist elites want to depopulate, destroy us by chem trails, pesticides in foods and every item we eat in the grocery stores, vax jabs, and many more lies. If the banks collapse and they talk all your money saying sorry we don’t have it we will all just be s**t out of luck. So change what you can. Start preparing. I mean it’s like the hunger games over there in Australia treating him by districts. What do you think these 15 min cities are going to be like for us that are already taking place in some states? Working off social credit tokens? Scores? Knowing your every move and if you did a good deed or something wrong to deduct points so you can’t ride the train that day. Since you are meat you are too many carbon points now you are low on money. When the WEF says they fear a cybersecurity attack in the next 2 years. These are the same guys who did agenda 21 “trial run” for a pandemic outbreak just months before Covid happened. They are already talking about a deadly virus that could kill more children. I never was an anti vax-ER but when this one came out red flags were all over it and didn’t seem right. Now the cover up to deny the young and healthy athletes falling over has nothing to do with it we all know what’s really going on. If you don’t I’ve for research articles documentaries and whistlesblower info I can send over your way. Now with saying all of this-our situation. We are bidding our house for all materials cheaper now. Simpler and whatever we can do to bring costs down. We have considered selling off assets like our beach property and our boat and purging so many things we don’t need and simplifying our life. We have a back up plan to build a bedroom onto our barndo possibly even 2 if we had 2 worst case. Ideally it would be to sit on the cash ( not in the bank) for the next year or two-part 4 next

03/11/2023

Part ✌️ of my posts-if you really needed to build I would buy that land and build NOW. Let me explain our why: if we are going into biblical prophecy times for example. It could be in 5 years or decades more. But we personally know a lot of family will be coming to us to live & survive. We are already starting a garden, survival emergency food, chickens and building a coop, figuring out water storage, hand well pump, solar & generators, cords of woods and wood burning fireplace. Survival gear and “Bob” bags. Bug our bags if s**t hits the fan you gotta leave. We are also planning to build a bunker. Not huge to fit droves of people big enough for us and supplies. Buying a freeze dryer ad drying meat fruit anything we can. Buying canned food and survival supplies. Ammo. It’s that serious to us. So saying that-i would tell any client that had the means to do so-to buy land and get out of the city & suburbs. I’ve listening to podcasts of true survivalist who train navy seals, economics advisors who travel the world, and bankers who understand just who fragile our dollar is. You already see the destruction happening with chemical spills, earthquakes, rivers turning red, the Euphrates drying up, the violence that happens in urban areas. So when the fear hit everyone beginning or Covid and they fought over toilet paper, meds, baby formula: just magnify that ten times over. So in my personal opinion it would be to start prepping. You may not need it, but your kids or grand kids may be set for life. You have peace of mind of being prepared and self reliant on you and the land and not the government. Now I won’t go too much into the mark of the beast Bcuz we won’t know what that is or when. But if you are a believer and you are to NOT take it but without it you can’t do commerce. You can’t buy or sale. How do you feed your family? Are you prepared for that? Do you have a community of like minded people to trade with? What happens if gold silver even becomes unimportant. What if you can’t work. What if people lose their minds and will do anything to find food can you protect your family? Have you been saved, repent from your sins and let Christ into your heart? Part 3 next

03/11/2023

This is going to be a ✌️ part post lots to talk about. My personality type is to always be watching where the economy is heading. I’m not talking listening to MSM (main stream media) propaganda machines bought and paid for to spit out lies and fear or leave us in the dark. I’m also not a conspiracy theorist let me put that out there. I’m a critical thinker, skeptic, and anxiety is my middle name. I like to think out every scenario at its worst and best. How does the saying go-hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst. So here goes. For those wanting to one day buy a home or build one. If you aren’t paying attention to our corrupt government, the puppets they use and distractions hey look up at the sky there’s a balloon as they sneak legislation paragraphs into 500 page documents. Then you need to start following accounts on here, tik tok, what the new one telegram? So yea. Lumber prices are good. Some material and labor costs stay the same. But interest rates are rising. None of us can tell the future or we would be filthy rich. Sometimes around elections or right after someone is in office they will make things a little better for a short time right? But let’s be on the real up and up right now. Let go for worst case scenario. A lot of the states are turning into rental machines. Big companies buying up land building our box tract homes jacking rental prices way up and for the working man on a wage that you wish was so much higher it may even be hard for you to rent at those prices yet ever buy or build. Our system is corrupt and upside down for sure. What happens if rates start hitting 10, 12, 15% or more?? That custom home you wanted for 2500+sf is going to be a doozy to pay a mortgage on. So here’s some advice for those still wanting to achieve that dream. Being dead serious-you should be wanting to start the process right now and now rates can still go up as you build. This is where you have to decide what’s the most important for your family vs waiting. (When I say waiting it’s waiting on worst case outlook of sky high rates in a recession or worse) I say that because look at how uneasy the economy is with wars-go to part 2
