The Photo I Almost Took
I was going to take a picture.
The hammock. The sky. The moment.
My first instinct was —
capture it. share it. prove it happened.
And then I caught myself.
What if the reaching for the phone
was the thing that would have ended the moment?
What if presence
is the one thing
a photo can never hold?
So I put it down.
And I just... stayed.
The music played.
The earth held me.
The sky didn't ask for anything.
And for a few minutes
I wasn't a content creator,
I wasn't performing healing,
I wasn't trying to inspire anyone.
I was just a man.
In a hammock.
Letting himself be loved
by the night.
Some moments aren't for the feed.
Some moments are just for you.
Have you been reaching for the phone
before you've finished feeling the thing?
