LEBANESE RICE WITH BEEF 🇱🇧 Recipe⬇️ Also known as Hashweh rice or what my family always called it, Ghouzi pilav. We usually serve this on holidays but it’s so delicious and easy, that I make it during the week.
INGREDIENTS-
1 lb beef (I’m using American Wagyu but any ground beef or lamb is fine)
1/2 onion minced
2 Tbsp avocado oil or oil of choice
2 cups Basmati rice (rinsed)
4 cups chicken broth
Salt & pepper to taste
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp Seven Spice or baharat
1/4 cup pine nuts
Optional nuts can include, almond slivers, cashews, cooked chestnuts, or shelled pistachios.
DIRECTIONS-
Add the pine nuts to a dry pan and toast over low/medium heat until just golden. This only takes 2 minutes. They will burn easily so don’t walk away. Set them aside.
In a pot over medium heat, add the oil and sauté the onions for 5-7 minutes. Bring in the beef and brown well. Add salt, pepper, and the seven spice. Bring in the toasted pine nuts and the rice. Cook the rice for just a couple minutes.
Pour in the broth. Taste the broth and add salt if necessary. Bring to a bubble and add in a Tbsp of butter. Lower the heat and cover. Cook until the liquid has been absorbed. This takes around 25 minutes or so.
Fluff with a fork and serve.
Top with more toasted nuts, chives or parsley, and my personal favorite, pomegranate arils. Enjoy and thanks for watching.

📣OJEN MAMA IS BACK! This was a huge surprise for me! I did NOT expect her to join me in this video. I’m so happy I could cry! Chi kufteh is one of her favorite dishes, and I think it came out extra delicious because she was here with me🩷
INGREDIENTS-
1 lb chi kufteh meat (Finely ground beef or lamb)
1/3 cup number 1 Bulghur. You can add more bulghur if you prefer.
1/3 cup water
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt. Use less salt if using table or sea salt.
1 1/2 tsp Aleppo pepper
1 Heaping Tbsp mild or hot pepper paste
1-2 Tbsp olive oil Plus more for when plating.
Bowl of ice water
Chopped green onions & parsley for garnish.
DIRECTIONS-
In a sini or platter, add the bulghur, salt, Aleppo, pepper paste, and water.
Combine well and set aside for 15-20 minutes.
TIP-Freeze your meat for 10-15 minutes so it separates easily from the bag.
Add beef to the bulghur mixture. Add a little olive oil. Start combining. Dip hand in ice water if meat feels sticky.
If the meat mixture feels very soft, you can refrigerate it for 30 minutes to an hour and it will firm up.
Dip fingers in olive oil and pick apart a small piece and gently squeeze in your palm. Place on serving platter. I like adding the garnish on the bottom and top of the chi kufteh.
Alternatively, you can spread the chi kufteh evenly onto a serving platter and garnish with the greens.
Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. This will allow the meat to firm up.
Additional toppings include-Sliced hot peppers, toasted pine nuts, or seasoned ground beef.
Thanks for watching and be sure to like, save, and share this recipe with your friends!

🔥STICKY-SWEET & SPICY Butterflied Chicken Drumsticks!🔥Recipe⬇️ A budget friendly dinner idea that uses mostly staple pantry ingredients!
INGREDIENTS-
10 Drumsticks (Butterflied preferably)
Salt & pepper to season front and back of chicken.
MARINADE INGREDIENTS-
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar. I’m using a fig balsamic from
1 Tbsp Dijon or spicy mustard
2 Tbsp Hot Honey or regular honey
2-3 Tbsp Soy sauce or tamari
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3-4 cloves crushed garlic
Juice of a lemon or lime
Handful chopped parsley or cilantro
1/4 cup olive oil
OPTIONALLY you can add red chili flakes or some Sambal Oelek.
DIRECTIONS-
Whisk together the marinade ingredients. Set aside 1/2 a cup of the marinade to use for basting chicken.
Butterfly chicken legs and add salt and pepper to all sides of the chicken.
Pour marinade over the chicken and coat all the pieces of chicken with marinade.
Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour. The longer it marinates, the better.
Remove chicken from the fridge about an hour before you’re ready to grill.
Heat your grill to medium high and add the chicken. Cook for around 7-8 minutes covered. Flip and continue cooking. Baste with the reserved marinade if desired.
Cook an additional 8 minutes it’s or when an instant read thermometer shows 165 degrees.
Garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro and some lime. Enjoy with your favorite sides. I always serve this with fragrant jasmine rice and a salad.
