Stacia Smith, principal designer and founder of Homewood Interiors, brings an upbeat and easygoing energy to each project she undertakes. With her unique sense of humor and a somewhat irreverent approach to decorating, Stacia immediately puts new clients at ease as she guides them through the challenges and occasional frustrations of homebuilding and interior design. From the initial planning stages and selections, through creative solutions and problem solving, Stacia is personally involved with each of her clients, and every aspect of the project. Whether working from blueprints on a home under construction, designing spaces that reflect a distinct corporate image, or simply breathing new life into an existing room, Stacia’s twenty-plus years of experience make the process as stress free for her clients as possible. Homewood Interiors is a comprehensive interior design firm, catering to the individual needs of residential and corporate clients in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Delaware. Stacia Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada at Reno and initially worked as a copywriter for an international company in Hong Kong. She developed a passion for design in her position as Creative Services Director for a firm in London, where she dressed sets. Prior to founding Homewood Interiors in 2012, Stacia designed countless homes with an interior design firm she co-founded in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Ending the week with a lesson in contrast. Deep walnut grounds the room while soft linen and pale walls keep it light.

Rest, refined.

We wanted guests to linger in this one. Warm terracotta birds, a textured stone counter with an integrated sink, and a dark reclaimed vanity bring a lodge-meets-gallery feel to the smallest room in the house.

Updated vanity with separate his-and-hers sinks, ample drawer and cabinet space, and quartz countertops.

Zooming in on the little things.

A home office built for focus. Custom dark millwork frames a soft abstract painting, while a weathered gray desk and pair of tan leather barrel chairs bring warmth to the moody palette.

Some kitchens are for cooking. This one’s for showing off.

Every project starts with a question: how do you want to feel in this room?

Here, the answer was calm, connected, and cozy. This is what that looks like.

Wood, warmth, window views. That’s the recipe.

Muted grays, dual monitors, and abstract landscapes…the perfect office environment.
