$1.25 for the pair! 👀 I loved the shape of these candlesticks when I found them at the thrift store, but the black just wasn’t working for me. A little Antique Gold Rub ’n Buff later and they fit right in on my mantel. 🤎✨

You really can’t beat a good thrift store find and a little paint!

White horse boots are my favorite. 🤍 They go with everything and I love how they look in the arena… but keeping them white is another story. 😂

I used to wash mine in the washing machine, but after being a little too hard on my machine 😬, I had to find another way.

We don’t have a pressure washer at home, so now I just take them to the car wash! A few minutes with the pressure washer, then I hang them on the fence in the sun to dry. It’s the quickest and easiest way I’ve found to get all that arena dirt and staining out.

Figured I’d share my little trick with my barrel racing friends! 🤠🤎

Barrel racers… y’all know the goal is NOT to hit the barrel. 😂 But sometimes it happens.

After breaking my knee twice barrel racing and fracturing my shin, I got pretty nervous about taking another hard hit. I didn’t want to wear bulky shin guards, so I found CushShin Sock Guards—and they’ve honestly given me a little extra confidence getting up in there and riding past that barrel instead of worrying so much about my leg.

And apparently I really do like them, because my first pair was too tight around my calves and I literally cut the feet off and KEPT WEARING THEM. 🤣

I just ordered these new wide calf ones and wanted to show y’all what I’ve been using.

Some rodeo weekends just stick with you. 🤎

This was our first weekend staying in the living quarters in almost three years. The kids had an absolute blast. We ate homemade sausage biscuits outside, watched the sun come up, and woke up with bucking horses turned out all around us. It was one of those mornings I wish I could bottle up.

I’ve had KC for three years, but this was only our 11th run together. There have been a lot of setbacks getting here, and if I’m being truthful, I’ve carried a lot of guilt wondering if continuing to rodeo meant I wasn’t putting my kids first.

Then I watched the video of my run.

I hadn’t noticed it while I was running, but there were my babies—standing together against the arena fence watching their mama. 🥹 And something about seeing them there hit me.

They love this life too.

They’re not just watching me rodeo. They’re watching our family show up for each other. They’re watching me struggle, work hard, get back up and keep working at something I love. And I’m getting to watch them do the same with the things they love.

Maybe supporting our kids doesn’t mean we have to stop doing the things we love. Maybe there’s something good in letting them see us work hard for something too.

I’ve carried so much anxiety wondering if rodeo was taking something away from my kids, and this weekend I felt like God was showing me something different. They’re right here beside me, loving it too. We’re doing this together, supporting each other and making memories as a family along the way. And maybe that’s exactly where we’re supposed to be. 🤎

I think I’m finally starting to love this room. 🤎

It’s taken me a while to figure out what I wanted this room to feel like. I replaced the original light when we bought the house, but honestly never loved the one I chose. 😂 I’ve looked forever for the right one, and I think this new light was exactly what it needed.

But my favorite part will probably always be our table. Before Aaron and I got married, my daddy built it for me out of an original door from our family’s 1800s dogtrot house. I lived in that old house for years, and Aaron and I even called it home for a while. The color and everything on the door is still original. 🤎

My mama found the china hutch at a thrift store, I painted it, and the china and so many of the pieces inside are things she’s given me for birthdays and Christmas over the years.

And this room gets USED. 😂 We eat here, paint here, play board games here and make messes here. I want a pretty home, but I also want it to be cozy and a place where my kids can actually live.

I think I’m finally getting this room there. 🤎

I’m not gonna lie, that green comforter scared me a little. 😂 I love green, but putting THAT much green on our bed was definitely stepping outside my comfort zone. But I went for it…and I’m so glad I did!

I’ve been mixing in things we already had, a few new pieces and some thrifted finds, and I LOVE how our room is turning out. 🤎 We’ve been in this house 8 years and somehow our bedroom has always been one of the last rooms I get around to. 😂 It’s definitely still evolving, but seeing the before and after makes me realize just how much it’s changed! 😍

It’s amazing what a little Rub ’n Buff can do. 😍✨

I grabbed this little frame from Dollar Tree knowing I wanted to change it up. A little gold Rub ’n Buff later, and now it looks right at home mixed in with the rest of our master bedroom gallery wall. 🤎

Proof you definitely don’t have to spend a lot to make something look good!
