Standing with Our Friends at Milton’s 💛

At Sonus Interiors, we’ve had the privilege of supporting Milton’s for many years — and they’ve always been more than just a restaurant. They’re a cherished part of this community.

Recently, Milton’s shared the difficult news that they planned to close. In response, the community has shown an incredible outpouring of love, and a group of supporters has launched a fundraiser to help keep Milton’s open.

If the goal is reached, these funds will go directly toward much-needed infrastructure updates to ensure Milton’s can thrive well into the future. If the goal isn’t met, contributions will be thoughtfully returned or honored as meals.

We believe in Milton’s and the heart they bring to our community — and we’re proud to stand behind this effort. 🫶

A Place Built on Love and Community

Milton’s has been more than a restaurant to us, they’ve been a trusted partner and part of our family. Since then, they’ve served countless meals at our company events and client gatherings.

With the news of their upcoming closure on October 31, 2025, we want to rally our construction partners, clients, and friends to support Milton’s in this time of need. The best way to do that is simple: place a catering order. Whether for an office lunch, a project milestone, or a client appreciation event, every order helps sustain the business and honors the legacy they’ve built in our community.

Let’s stand together and show our gratitude by supporting Milton’s in these final months.

This Labor Day, we’re proud to celebrate the hands that build our spaces and the teamwork that keeps us moving forward. Here are a few snapshots of our Union installers—the faces behind our craftsmanship—during a recent site visit where we traveled to more than 35 job sites to deliver snacks and drinks as a small token of appreciation.

🏀 Project spotlight: NBA Store at Mall of America

We were proud to partner with CSI Creative on the ceiling installation at the newly opened NBA Store, the third of its kind in the U.S.

Our scope included the installation of custom ceiling that supports the store’s visual storytelling and layout —bringing the spirit of Minnesota basketball to life.

This was a detail-driven project with a tight timeline inside a high-traffic mall environment. We’re proud to have delivered a clean, high-quality finish that helped bring CSI’s creative vision to life.

🏓 Bringing Energy to Life at Chip's Pickleball Club in Eagan!

This was one of those projects that reminded our interior design team Andrea Brunell, CID and Rakhi Penugonda, CID how much fun FF&E procurement can be.

Collaborating with Dean J Rarchitecture (DJR), Fendler Patterson Construction and the Chip's Pickleball Club team, we helped shape a playful, modern environment that reflects the vibrant energy of the sport and the community behind it.

We’re proud to have contributed to a space where people come together both on and off the court!

As the final day of Women in Construction Week, we’re proud to highlight all of the incredible women shaping our industry—including our very own Jessica Scrabeck, President of Sonus Interiors.

Jessica’s path into construction was shaped by her father’s legacy, but she’s made her own mark through dedication, leadership, and hard work. From installing ceilings as a summer job to stepping into a leadership role, she has seen firsthand how the industry is evolving for women.

“There’s a growing recognition that talent, dedication, and work ethic matter more than gender,” she shares. “It’s encouraging to see more women in leadership and companies actively fostering a supportive environment.”

With 12 years in the industry and a decade at Sonus Interiors®, Project Manager Sarah Earhart has built an impressive career in construction. Inspired by her father and brother, she pursued project management and has since led major projects, including the Essentia Health project in Duluth, MN—one of the most complex and rewarding of her career.

Sarah has seen more women stepping into leadership roles in construction over the years, and she encourages others to follow suit: “The demand is there, and so is the opportunity to be successful.”

🔨 Women in Construction Week Spotlight Series🔨

With 40+ years in the industry and 20 years at Sonus Interiors®, Peggy Elwood Hammond has seen it all. She started in flooring on the supplier side before transitioning into commercial work in Minnesota, where she had to push through barriers in a male-dominated field.

Breaking into the “good ole boys club” wasn’t easy, but she never backed down. Now, she’s proud to see more women in leadership roles, as job superintendents, and even as flooring installers—something unheard of not long ago.

Her advice? "Believe in yourself. Don’t be afraid to try something new. Failure is just another way to learn and grow."
