Identify everything you would love to accomplish. This gives your design team the complete vision and helps uncover opportunities you may not have considered.

3. Your priorities ✏️
Decide what matters most. When the wants exceed the budget—or an unexpected condition arises—clear priorities help protect the decisions that will have the greatest impact on how your home functions and feels.

Before you begin shopping for cabinetry, you need confirmed appliance specifications, budget, and a realistic understanding of what the cabinetry must store. These decisions affect dimensions, finishes and the interior organization you will use every day.

Adding square footage is not always the answer. Sometimes the existing home has enough space—it is simply divided or used in the wrong way.

At Palo Verde, we studied circulation, room relationships and the way the home needed to function before deciding what should change. Reworking the plan created stronger connections, clearer purpose and a home that feels larger without relying on size alone.

At pi Palo Verde Project, interest comes from shifts in material, scale and finish rather than several competing statements. The restrained palette keeps the room quiet. Variation in texture and proportion gives it depth.

When is the most expensive time to hire a designer?

🚧 After construction has already started.

It’s not because the designer suddenly costs more, it’s because decisions have already been made without considering how the entire home needs to work together.

That can mean moving electrical, changing plumbing, reordering materials, modifying cabinetry or replacing finishes that don’t work as expected. Add in delays and rush fees, and those “small” oversights become expensive very quickly.

Good design isn’t just about making your home beautiful. It’s about making the right decisions early, before they cost twice as much to correct.
