Over the past year, something interesting happened.

As I've spent some time now living between Arizona and Northern Portugal, my perspective on home has quietly changed.

I still love beautiful interiors, thoughtful details, and timeless design. But I've realized that the homes we remember most aren't the ones that are perfectly decorated—they're the ones where life is well lived.

They're the homes where family gathers around the table, where coffee tastes a little better in the morning light, where the windows are open on a beautiful day, and where everyday moments become lasting memories.

That realization inspired something new.

Today I'm sharing the very first article in the Evelyn K Design Journal and introducing Design Notes, a new way for me to share ideas, inspiration, and stories about creating a home that supports the life you want to live.

While design will always be at the heart of what I do, this journey is about much more than interiors. In the months ahead, I'll be sharing thoughtful design ideas alongside inspiration from nature, seasonal living, entertaining, European discoveries, favorite products, and the simple rituals that make a house feel like home.

A New Chapter for Evelyn K Design

Over the past year, I've spent a lot of time reflecting on both my business and the life my family is creating.

As many of you know, we are beginning a new chapter that will eventually have us spending time between Arizona and Portugal. That transition prompted me to take a closer look at what I truly love most about interior design and how I want to serve clients moving forward.

What I discovered is that my favorite part of design has never been selecting furniture or decorating a room.

It's helping homeowners create clarity.

Helping them understand why a space doesn't feel right.

Helping them make confident decisions.

Helping them create homes that feel calm, cohesive, and deeply personal.

Because of that, Evelyn K Design is evolving.

Going forward, my focus will be on virtual design guidance, design resources, personalized consultations, and sharing practical design expertise that helps homeowners create beautiful homes no matter where they live.

You'll continue to see inspiration, but you'll also see more education, more resources, and more guidance designed to help you create a home you truly love.

This next chapter feels incredibly aligned with both the lifestyle I'm building and the work I feel most passionate about.
