Weekend Recap 🌾🍑

There’s just something special about a slow weekend spent treasure hunting and stocking up on good food.

After a little thrifting, visiting with friends, and a trip to the Amish market, we came home with our kitchen overflowing—fresh peaches, potatoes, lettuce, cabbage, peppers, whole wheat flour, lentils, eggs, fresh basil, tomato, cashews, spices, kohlrabi, soap, sugar, cornmeal and enough produce to keep us busy for a while! 🥬🍅🌶️

I love these kinds of weekends. The simple things. Supporting local growers, filling the pantry, finding quality ingredients, and planning meals around what’s in season. It feels a little like stepping back in time and a lot like taking care of the people you love. Mom and I even ate lunch at one of the delis. Such a great little place and extremely busy I might add!

Now comes the fun part: washing, chopping, preserving, and figuring out all the ways to use this beautiful haul. 🍑🥔

I even got a decent haul of clothes from goodwill, my favorite vintage sheets, and scored myself a cute Amish apron, giant vintage jar, vintage mixing bowl, and ceramic egg holder. I mean whats not to love about all this?!

Anyone else love coming home from the Amish market feeling like you’ve hit the jackpot? What’s your favorite thing to buy when you go? Mine is the non-electric dry goods market.

Balancing is tough.

One thing people don’t always see behind this little business is that it exists in the in-between moments.

I work a full-time job during the day, and most nights you’ll find me downstairs in my workshop surrounded by wire, leather scraps, beads, stainless steel blanks, half-finished ideas, and probably a cold cup of coffee. 😂

Balancing both isn’t always graceful. Some days the house is messy, emails are unanswered longer than I’d like, and creativity has to fight its way through exhaustion. But this business matters to me.

It’s more than making jewelry or engraving pieces. It’s creating something with my own hands after a long day of meetings, deadlines, and screens. It’s building something meaningful slowly, piece by piece.

There are late nights, early mornings, and plenty of moments where I question if I can keep juggling it all. But every order, every kind message, every person who wears something I made reminds me why I keep showing up.

So if you’re building something while also working a full-time job, raising kids, managing life, or just trying to keep your head above water… I see you. Small businesses are often built in the quiet hours nobody talks about. 🤍

Yall!!! Did I forget to mention that Flossi turned 27 at the first of the month?! I think I did. 🤦🏻‍♀️

She got to do a lot of her favorite things and we had a small little party for her, fishing theme of course because our girl loves to fish and be outdoors.

So don’t forget it’s still her birthday month and wish her a happy birthday.
