🌍MID-CENTRY (1960's) GEORGE F. CRAM. IMPERIAL GLOBE 🌏
📍Vintage mid century authentic George F. Cram Imperial World globe on a tall wooden floor display stand. The base of this piece is made of beautiful solid pinewood. It has four tall wooden legs and a circular wooden ring around the base and the center of the globe. The globe appears to float on the stand and is removable and spin-able thanks to the original metal hardwares. The George F. Cram Company, Inc. company is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. They are a renowned industry leader and publisher / manufacturer of maps, atlases, globes, and related educational supplies. The company has been primarily owned and directed by the Douthit family since 1966 but it's roots trace back to 1867, when a merchant named Rufus Blanchard, originally from Massachusetts, took his nephew George F. Cram into business with him in Evanston, Illinois, near Chicago. They are known for quality and accuracy - this globe does not disappoint! It shows a ton of information and could be used for homework / eduction OR it could be fabulous decor. We acquired it from a large estate in North Carolina. "Cram's Imperial World Globe" is printed on the globe.
