I have some new products at the Missouri Botanical Gardens—Green Living Festival today. There’s a hollow vessel maple bowl, a large hackberry bandsaw box, and a white cedar branch bowl that I’m calling my basket-bowl. The usual pens, wood coozies, and small bandsaw boxes are all here too. I’m with Wild Roots, so the company is great.

I’ll be at the Alton farmers market on Saturday, the 19th with my wife.
It’s been a minute since I’ve posted anything. Here’s a live edge bowl from a Madison county maple tree that I’ve recently made with a little advice from some experienced turners at my woodworking club.

I apologize for the late notice, but I will not be able to attend the old bakery brewery earth day festival tomorrow. My wife will still be there vending for her company, Wild Roots. If anyone would like to take a look at anything I’ve made and had planned to sell, let me know and I’ll send it with her.

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to have any shop time, but I recently had a chance to turn this bowl from a maple in Madison county that my brother in law cut down. I wanted to do a before and after pic of the finish to show why I prefer oil based finishes. This piece already has some nice spalting and I love the grain rings, but the boiled linseed oil really makes everything stand out. I used a few coats of that and finished it off with a wax mix.
Most of my bowls tend to curve in, so I decided to take advantage of the width and curve the walls out.
