There’s something about Tim Holtz fabrics that makes every project feel full of character.
Vintage typography, maps, labels, textures, botanical prints, and unexpected details come together in fabrics that are so much fun to mix, coordinate, and create with.

For these Multi Function Boxes, we played with different Tim Holtz prints to create two completely different looks using the same project idea.

✨ Short or Long?
Both versions give you plenty of space to organize your favorite things, and the fabric combinations make each box truly unique.
That's one of our favorite things about cartonnage. Start with paperboard and fabric, add your own style, and create something beautiful, functional, and completely yours.

Making no-sew fabric boxes using the cartonnage technique is so fun, and it’s a great way of using fabrics in a different way while creating beautiful handmade gifts using a stash of fabrics you may have been collecting for a while.

Materials are very simple. You will use our DIY kits that come with the thick chipboard precisely precut in the sizes and shapes needed, poster board, and any other papers or other things needed (except fabrics — use your own). And the best, the glue is Elmer’s Glue All — so easy to find! Very simple other materials needed, as you can see in the video and find on our website.

The Tea House Fabric Box is a DIY kit that comes with downloadable “written instruction with tons of pictures,” easy and quick to make. This video is showing in a quick and general way what cartonnage is about, so I hope you enjoy it!
