Thank you for 8 years!

In April of 2018, Candle Kitchen officially opened our doors for business! Since then we have been delightedly making candles with so many of you for 8 years. We are so thankful that all of our customers choose us to stretch their creative muscles, spend quality time with their loved ones, celebrate birthdays, weddings and babies alongside us!

Spring Outside and Spring inside!

As the weather starts to warm up, I start wanting to bring the joyous smells of spring inside! I open a window and light up a candle and enjoy a crisp breath of fresh air.

Here are some Spring Scent Combinations that we think you will love! Stop in and smell and see what spring inspired creation you can create!

Staff Candles!

We have been loving having our line of Staff Candles available for purchase in our store! Each person on our staff carefully created a scent that represents them and made a custom label to match. There is everything from Kathie’s sunscreen inspired candle to Kylie’s Warm and cozy to Kristy’s delicious latte scent. Come smell them all and see who’s is your favorite! It has become a friendly competition in the store and each staff member is delighted when you take one of our creations home with you!

We are welcoming in the warmer weather with two new Summer inspired scents!

Solar Sands is a relaxing beach getaway with middle notes of rich coconut milk with warm amber that is heightened by notes of soft citrus and palm leaves. It all comes together with base notes of teakwood and salt. It would make the perfect edition to our coastal inspired scents like Coconut, Volcano, and Sea Breeze but would also blend with more earthy base notes like Cedar and Mahogany. Come in and smell it for yourself and see what blends speak to you!

The scent of the viral tik tok sensation, Sol De Janerio, Brazilian Bum Bum Cream has graced the candle kitchen’s fragrance options! The specific scent that we have is the Cheirosa 62 fragrance! The notes of this scent are gourmand in nature with scents like pistachio, vanilla and salted caramel that are softened with gentle jasmine and grounded with sandalwood. Whether you want to recreate just the scent of Bum Bum cream for yourself in a candle, or even in our Goat’s Milk and Honey lotion or you want to customize the scent for yourself, the options are endless!

New Staff Signature Scents!

We are thrilled to introduce our Staff Signature Scents! We installed some new shelving that inspired the idea to have each staff member create their own scent that is as unique and amazing as they are! Come smell them all and pick up your favorite for $25!

Spring cleaning with a candle

Nothing beats opening all of the windows when you finally start to smell the first hints of spring on the air. I like to let that warm air flow through my house while I get in a good spring cleaning.

And there’s no better way to finish off some spring cleaning than lighting a fresh candle to relax near. Personally in the spring, I like to pretend it’s the heat of summer and bring out the most tropical scents I have like Pineapple, Volcano and Coconut! But there are great scents that can ease you into spring like the first buds on a tree.

The winter season is here! As I am sitting down to write this newsletter, the first sprinkles of snow is coming down and I am cozied up with a warm vanilla latte from another 5th street favorite business, Copeka! Candle Kitchen is here to help keep you warm and cozy this year! So bundle up and read on for ways we can help you keep your spirit bright!

Christmas scents are here!

Over the last week we have been busy little elves, making all of our Christmas Candles to put out! We have a wide variety of Holiday smells from Pecan Pie to Christmas Tree to Christmas Ale and everything in between. They are all ready to be made into your favorite Holiday Scent to help warm your home or office to this magical season!

We still have all of our other scents out as well! So don’t fear, you can still make your beach candle dreams come true in the middle of winter.

Experience gifting!

You know that person in your life who just seems to have everything? Or the person who is just exceptionally hard to buy for? Or even someone who just wants the gift of your presence? We have the perfect solution. You can purchase a Free Pour Card, from us to give to that person on your list who you are stumped on. A Free Pour Card is an empty candle vessel of your choice with a card inside that allows the receiver to come in and make a candle for free.

Experience gifting is, just as it sounds, a gift that focuses more on an experience than a physical item. It is a perfect way to get someone to be creative, or try something new. You can even give a gift for two that you can do together. That way, not only are you giving them a gift, you are promising time to spend together, perfect for the quality time lovers in your life. The Candle Kitchen not only provides the experience but also, something to wrap and put under your tree!

Not sure what container they would like for their home? Don’t fear! The Free Pour Cards can be swapped for a different container of the same or lesser value or apply the cost towards a more expensive candle! We also offer Gift Certificates if the decision of a container seems overwhelming.

This season Santa came early at the Candle Kitchen and dropped off the most beautiful selections of new containers to pour your candles into! We have beautiful containers with ornate lids, containers that are just begging to be reused as your new favorite margarita glass, and containers that will help you bring in the Holiday spirit! FMHS Band Fundraiser

Candle Kitchen is doing a fundraiser for the Fruita Monument Band this year! If you come in and make a purchase on December 13th, 20% of that purchase will be donated to support the Band and all of the amazing things they do to support their musicians!

The Candle Kitchen Family has an FMHS band student in his freshman year and we are so thrilled to be able to support their amazing program! So come out and make a candle!

Parade of Lights!

The Grand Junction Parade of Lights is on December 6th this year! We will be closing an hour early to enjoy the parade! So if you want to make a candle that day, stop in before 5pm!

Fall Activity Ideas!

If you are looking for a cozy, solo self care day, let me give you the perfect fall itinerary!

9:00 am: Wake up slow, dress in cozy sweatpants and a lightweight flannel
10:00 am: Head downtown and grab a delightful breakfast from Dream Cafe
10:30 am: Make a pit stop into Kiln Coffee to treat yourself to a warm latte or tea
11:00 am: Make your way down Main street and enjoy the fall colors changing and the last autumnal blooms of the downtown flower beds
11:05 am: After a short walk, stop into make a Candle with us!
12:00 pm: Stroll around the corner and across Main Street to peruse Out West Books and pick up a cozy read. (I recommend Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree for a cozy fantasy novel)
1:00 pm: Walk back across the street to get a delicious deli sandwich from the Hog and the Hen. Our staff favorites are the Tom and the Plenty of Fish. Enjoy your lunch on their patio
2:00 pm: Make your way further down Main Street and wander aimlessly down the many nooks and crannies of A Robin’s Nest Antiques.
3:00pm: Make your way back to the Candle Kitchen to pick up your newly crafted candle.
3:30 pm: Head back home to cozy up with your new book and light up your new candle.
6:00 pm: End your perfect fall downtown day by ordering Pablo’s Pizza of the week and enjoying some dinner!

If you and your local coven are looking for some fun spooky season activities, look no further than the Candle Kitchen! My favorite way to welcome in a new season is to make a candle that represents my intentions for the season. There are specific herbs and colors and plants that can help elevate certain feelings if you need some direction but you can also follow your heart and intuition to make something that is perfectly tailored to you!

Here is a small guide for scent intentions to help you get started!

Happy Fall!

It's Candle Season! 🕯️

Much like fall in Western Colorado, our fall newsletter is a bit delayed… But here it comes in your inbox along with the first few days of autumnal weather! And boy are we are READY! Welcoming the Dog Days of August Candle Adoption!

Each August the Candle Kitchen has our annual Candle Adoption Event! Believe it or not, we do have quite a few candles that get left behind, never to be picked up by their owners. We keep all of our candles for a minimum of 3 months. If they are still here once August comes around,

they are placed into our available for adoption candles! On August 1st we place all of these candles out on a table with a donation jar. We ask for a minimum donation of $5 to take one of these candles home! After every candle has been adopted, we take all of the donations and give them to an animal shelter. This year we are giving to Happy Little Rescue! So come down to the store and give all of these abandoned candles a sniff! There are always scent combinations that surprise you and may be your new favorite combination!

New Container Alert!

We have been busy little Chandlers, finding some amazing new candle containers to pour into! We have different colors and containers to match every aesthetic!

We also restocked our Wildflower containers!

New Scent Alert!

We also have sourced some new scents to add to our Scent Library! We’ve added Uncharted, an outdoorsy and masculine scent that smells like a new adventure out onto the open sea. It has notes of leather, cypress and eucalyptus and blends well with Lavender and Orange Zest.

We also added Golden hour that smells like sunkissed skin in the late afternoon when the sun is glowing. It contains notes of coconut, sweet orange and soft florals and blends well with Honeysuckle and Palo Santo.

Back to School is just around the corner!

As fall comes creeping closer and you start gearing up to go back to school, let’s show a little love to the heroes with dry erase markers in one hand and coffee in the other. Show your favorite teacher some love with a cozy candle made just for them, or even a Free Pour Card for them to come unwind and make their own candle.

Best of the West

We are so thankful and honored to have been nominated in two categories for the Daily Sentinel Best of the West! Scrolling through all of the categories gives me so much pride and joy that for the town we live in!

Coconut Update

We recently were heartbroken to discover that our Coconut scent was going through some supply shortages and we were not able to stock it. We sourced a new coconut scent that we decided to call Coconut Cream! It is slightly sweeter, more buttery and a truly classic coconut scent.

Even though the Coconut Cream is a delightful new addition to our scent library, we are delighted that our original Coconut scent is finally back in stock! We should have more in the store just in time for summery and beachy scent combinations!

New Container Alert!

Help us in welcoming our new, adorable containers to the store! We have Recycled Glass Butterfly and Wildflower containers and blue, green and pink Sonoma Swirl! They are the perfect new containers to help welcome in scents of spring cleaning, pool days coated in sunscreen and lovely nights out on a patio!

Birth Chart Candle Making Party!

June is the month we welcome in the Summer Solstice! To celebrate, Candle Kitchen is hosting our very own Birth Chart Candle Making party! A ticket will include a full birth chart reading, a custom scented candle you get to create to represent your Big Three signs, a manifestation station to add into your candle, and an intention setting topping bar to top your candle off with some magical stones, flowers and glitter!

This event will be at 6 pm on June 21st! Get your tickets on our website and provide your birthday, time and place!

Father's Day!

Have a creative dad? Candle making could be the perfect way to spend some time together this Father’s Day!

We’ve got scents that can appease an outdoorsy dad, like blue spruce, palo santo, campfire and agarwood. We’ve got scents for the masculine dad like straight razor, leather and mug and brush. Scents for the cocktail loving dad like bourbon, margarita and brandy (those go great with warm to***co for a cigar bar feeling)! Or for the unique and daring dad we have absinthe, wasabi and bamboo!

Happy Spring!

Hello lovely candle people! Aren't you so thankful it finally feels like spring is here? I know we are. We are busy little Chandlers making so many springy scents that helps celebrate the fleeting spring florals for just a bit longer. The downtown flower beds are just bursting with tulips and hyacinth and irises that just keep popping up each day! Come on downtown to enjoy them!

Mother's Day is almost here!

Mother’s day is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate your mama than spending time together and making a candle! We will be open 11-4 on Mother’s Day to help with all of your celebrations! We have a wide variety of vessels that will go perfectly with any home to help set the mood of rest, relaxation and love for a restful holiday for those hardworking mamas out there.

If you are looking for a lovely last minute gift for any mother in your life for her special day, we can help! We have a wonderful selection of premade candles with scents like Lavender Spring Apricot and Lilac Grove that would make a perfect edition in a gift basket! You also could pick up a Free Pour Card and gift your special someone the experience of making a candle whenever they would like! To do that, you pick out what container you would like to gift them, then we put a card that is good for filling that candle with the scent of your choice inside! All they have to do is bring it all back and they can make their own experience come to life! If you are worried about not picking the right container, fear not! The Free Pour Cards can be used like a gift card. The recipient can trade for a different color, or put the cost of that container towards any candle of their choosing!
