🍂 September Classes at The Glaze Garden! 🍂

We’ve got two hands-on pottery classes on the calendar this month—one returning favorite and one seriously satisfying glaze technique!

Carve Your Own Mug — A Glaze Garden classic! Start with a handmade mug at the leather-hard stage and make it your own by carving designs, adding texture, and getting creative with the surface.

Frozen Pond Bowls — Glaze a large handmade bowl using round sponges and up to six layers of glaze to build those beautiful overlapping, turtle-shell-like patterns. The kiln does the final bit of magic!

Whether you’re in the mood to carve, glaze, or just spend a little time making something with your hands, September has something fun waiting for you. 🌿

Check out the September calendar for dates and times, and grab your seat while they’re available on our website! All experience levels are welcome!

🌿 A little reminder — The Glaze Garden will be CLOSED September 1–5!

With school starting back up, I’m taking the week to settle into the new routine at home and give the studio a much-needed deep clean after a busy first year in this space. 🧹✨

Appointments, Glaze Your Own Pottery, and regular studio hours will resume after the break.

If you’ve been meaning to stop in, we'll be open today until 4, then again on Tuesday, September 8th. 💚

Thank you for an incredible year of creating with me. I’m looking forward to starting September with a clean studio and a fresh slate!

🌿 FEATURED GLAZE COMBO OF THE WEEK 🌿

Sometimes the best glaze combinations are the ones you wouldn’t think to put together!

This week’s featured combo creates this soft, garden-inspired finish with sagey greens, warm yellow, smoky gray and just a touch of pink around the rim. 🌸

Want to try it yourself? Here’s the recipe:

🎨 Bougainvillea — 2 full coats
🎨 Running Hot Chowder — 2 coats of dots
🎨 Iron Luster — 2 full coats

The fun part about layering glazes is that you never quite know how they’ll interact until they come out of the kiln—and sometimes you get something completely unexpected.

Save this combination for your next Glaze Your Own Pottery visit! 💚

Did You Know…? 🌿

Those little designs you see on some of our pottery don’t arrive ready to go—we spend hours cutting out underglaze transfers by hand so they’re ready for you to use on your bisqueware!

Think of them a little like temporary tattoos for pottery. ✨ You choose your design, apply it with water and a sponge, then glaze your piece as usual.

The really fun part? Once your pottery goes through the kiln, that design becomes permanent.

And when you choose one of our stoneware pieces, your finished pottery is also dishwasher and microwave safe—pretty and practical. 🤍

Next time you're in the Glaze Garden, take a peek through our collection of transfers and add a little extra personality to your piece!

🌿 September Studio Closure — A Little Reset! 🌿

Just a heads-up as we head toward fall: The Glaze Garden will be closed Tuesday, September 1st– Saturday the 5th.

With school starting back up and the studio officially having been in this space for a whole year, it feels like the perfect time for a little reset.

I’ll be using the week to deep clean the studio, reorganize, tackle some of those behind-the-scenes projects that are hard to accomplish while we're open, and get everything refreshed for the busy fall season ahead.

It’s pretty incredible to think about how much clay, glaze, creativity, and so many people have passed through these doors over the last year. The studio could definitely use a good scrub. 😂

Thank you for an amazing first year in this space and for understanding while I take a few days to get life—and the studio—back in order.

✨ Closed September 1st–5th
🌿 Back to creating after our studio reset!

Heads up! 🌿

The Glaze Garden will be closed today as we’re making a trip down to the Twin Cities to pick up supplies and take care of a few business errands.

We’ll be back and ready to welcome you during our regular business hours tomorrow! Thanks so much for your understanding, and we’ll see you soon! 💚
