Buckle Up Y’all… there’s exciting news ahead.
After 6+ years at 1 Carlton, I’ve packed up the office (aka supervised packing up the office), sifted through mountains of samples (decluttering = therapy), and took down the cabinet displays (jk that’s absolutely not my job).
IT’S TIME FOR MODRN TO MOVE ON.
I have loved my time in Eastown and couldn’t have picked a better community of folks to get me started on this path. I appreciate everyone who came in, bought gifts, ordered new furniture, or perused goods while sipping spiked cocoa at Shop Hops past.
I deeply love every client that has spent hours designing their dream spaces in my showroom, and the coworkers and employees that navigated all the learning experiences, growth, and change.
Creating a business from scratch is not for the faint of heart, pals. It’s far more challenging than I could ever explain in the captions below these little squares we share. I’ve learned A LOT while MODRN has shifted, pivoted, and recalibrated over the years.
***AND IT’S TIME TO DO IT AGAIN***
I’m incredibly proud to say that the bittersweet feeling of letting the space go is outweighed by the thrill of going out on my own in the design (etc.) world as a solo owner to create a more beautiful life for myself, my family, and my clients.
So, I’ll be back on this grid real soon with a new look, new name, an expanded menu of design options for many types of projects; but probably the same tired assistant because I can’t get rid of her no matter how hard I try!
For real though, please be patient as we’re just a two woman team navigating a lot of change while supporting ongoing projects and trying to create a bit of work/life harmony stepping out of our roles at and .
New showroom space is TBD so in the spirit of the iconic Tim Gunn, we’re going to MAKE IT WORK. Mostly from my home office (shoutout to the WFH king - see you in the kitchen for lunch!) And from all the cute coffee shops in GR. Please comment your faves!
