Out of candy? Plotting a scare? Pretending you’re not home? However you’re peeking out the window this Halloween, your shades have your back.

The best part of this weekend? An extra hour of sleep. Blackout drapery and shades help keep it dark even when the sun comes up earlier. Reminder to set your clocks back an hour this Sunday!

Your windows are your coldest wall.

Cellular (honeycomb) shades are built with pockets of air that act as a layer of insulation between your window and your room. Add drapery on top, and you’ve got two layers working hard together so your furnace doesn't have to.

Add in the flexibility of privacy and natural light for a space like a bathroom, and enjoying warm baths during the cold season just got even better.

Book your free consultation to have our designers bring samples right to your home and explore insulation options today.

Imagine shades that open at 8 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., all on their own. As the days get shorter, motorized shades give you light in the morning and privacy at night, without walking room to room. One less thing on your fall to-do list. 🍂 Ask us about motorization at your free in-home design consultation.

This week, our team attended Hand2Hand's 2026 Hope for Kids dinner.

Hand2Hand is on a mission to eliminate weekend hunger for kids in West Michigan. Our team has supported this amazing organization for years. Now, our install team helps deliver weekly backpacks to kids in our community — it's our favorite day of the week.

The funds raised from the dinner will help cover program costs throughout the school year to serve 293 schools across West Michigan.

Lakeshore Home Builders Association hosted its annual Clay Shoot last week. Grant, Aaron, Jason, and Sam from our Budget Blinds team enjoyed spending time outdoors and bonding with fellow home-building partners. Thank you to Lumbermen's Inc. for sponsoring!

October is . Are your window treatments safe for kids and pets?

Here are a few things to look for:
1. Avoid cords - Cordless or motorized window coverings are the safest option for rooms where kids and pets frequent. A great option is Lutron motorized shades (shown here).
2. Reposition furniture - Make sure your couches, cribs, and anything climbable is moved away from window cords.
3. Check manufacture dates - If your corded blinds or shades are from before November 2000, they likely do not have modern inner-cord safety loops.

Want to make sure your home is safe for your kids and pets? Call us! We offer a free in-home consultation.

Clean lines. A substantial frame. Light you can adjust.

Shutters bring a distinctive look to a room, and the details of the fit matter.

Here’s our team working through an installation.
