FAQ of the Day: This looks like fun, but what do all the different terms mean? It's as if it has its own code. LOL!
Glad you asked! :D
Here's a quick glossary for you:
Drill -- The acrylic "diamonds" or "gems" you stick onto the canvas to make the design.
Partial/Full -- Refers to how much of the canvas will be covered by drills.
"Full" kits have the entire canvas covered in drills.
"Partial" kits have only key features of the pattern covered so those features stand out more.
Round/Square -- Refers to the shape of the drills.
Square drills fit tightly together so they give a "fuller" look to the finished piece. But you do have to work to get them straight on the canvas.
Round drills are easier and more forgiving to put on uniformly. But some don't like how there are gaps where they don't meet if you look closely.
Both are beautiful and sparkly. Choosing which is best is truly a matter of personal preference.
5D/3D -- Refers to how many surfaces are cut onto the drills.
5D has 5 surfaces, and 3D has 3 surfaces. So 5D is more sparkly.
Are there any terms I've missed? Let me know!
