Martha Chappell Helms or "Kaye" as she was best known, passed away at Currituck House in Moyock August 4, 2025 at the age of 88. She and her late husband Jack founded and ran Helms Grocery in Jarvisburg for over 20 years. Martha Kaye leaves behind numerous relatives whom she adored including two loving daughters, one son, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Martha Kaye's personal directives for cremation will be honored and the family will hold her memorial service Thursday August 7, 2025 at 11 am at Poplar Branch Baptist Church.
