Rug Import

Direct Rug Import was the dream of a child, Amir Pouya, as he traveled with his father and grandfather to bazaars and villages watching handmade rugs being crafted by skills passed down from generation to generation. These experiences instilled in Amir what it meant to create rugs with such texture and design, that each becomes a masterpiece of art. Direct Rug Import has over 6,000 handmade area rugs for you to choose from. Our rugs are made mostly of natural fibers including wool and silk by skilled artisans from all over the world. Choosing the color and style you want is part of the excitement of a purchase that will last many years. After studying mechanical engineering in college, Amir realized his love of design, texture and quality had stayed with him since his childhood days. Joining the family business at a young age, Amir has worked in the retail rug industry for over 20 years. In that time he’s had the pleasure of placing his beautiful masterpieces in homes across the United States. In 1998, Amir fully realized his childhood dream by opening his one of a kind store, Pouya Antique Rug Gallery d.b.a. Now he spends his time, sharing his passion and devotion of the art, design and texture found in his beautiful hand woven rugs. Amir is dedicated to offering the best service along with his knowledge and expertise. He wants every customer to be pleased with their purchase, as it will last many, many years. Direct Rug Import will always be here anytime you have a question or need a service, such as cleaning or repair. Our only goal is to make sure our customer’s are pleased with the investment they are making. For us it isn’t just about just selling a rug, but helping a friend find the perfect piece that’s just the right touch for your home and personality. We want to hear a resounding “Yes!
