October Mist by Benjamin Moore is a soft, silvery green with gentle gray undertones that give it a calm, understated elegance.
It sits right on that perfect edge between color and neutral—noticeably green, yet muted enough to feel subtle and easy to live with. There’s a light, airy quality to it, almost like morning mist over foliage, which makes it feel fresh without being bright or overpowering. The gray influence keeps it grounded, giving it a refined, slightly smoky softness rather than a crisp or vibrant green.
What makes October Mist so versatile is how it adapts beautifully to different lighting and surroundings. In brighter spaces, it feels fresh and open, while in softer light it becomes more muted and cocooning, leaning into its earthy side.
It pairs effortlessly with warm whites, natural wood tones, and other soft neutrals, which is why I think it's a great color for kitchen cabinets. It also works well alongside deeper greens or charcoals for contrast. Whether used across a whole room or as part of a layered palette, it creates a serene, nature-inspired backdrop that feels both modern and timeless.
