One of the most special things about Heritage Patchwork Co. is knowing that the creativity behind it didn’t start with me! ♥️
My grandma Bertha was always making something with her hands — sewing, knitting, painting, quilting, weaving — and she used those talents not only because she loved creating, but because those skills helped her earn an income and support her family.
What makes my heart so full is seeing that legacy continue today. Some of my family members and cousins are still using the artistic skills they learned from Grandma Bertha to create beautiful things with their businesses!
She probably never realized just how far the things she taught us would reach. What started as simply watching Grandma create became a tradition, a skill, and a way of life that has been passed down through our family and now onto the fourth generation!
So today, I’m sharing a few of their handmade businesses below. I’ll include photos and links so you can see what they’re creating and, if something catches your eye, shop small and support their small artistic businesses!
There’s something really beautiful about knowing the hands behind what you’re buying — and even more beautiful when those hands carry on a legacy.

Rags to Rugs 🧶
-My aunt Donna, uncle Larry, and now my cousin Jessica carry on a generational family tradition by creating one-of-a-kind rugs from recycled textiles, woven on my Grandma Bertha’s original loom. These rugs are made to be enjoyed for years to come, while giving old textiles a beautiful new purpose!
