25 years ago today, I brought this beautiful girl into the world. We were blessed with 18 short months of loving her here before she gained her wings.

As the years go by, I find myself focusing less on what we lost and more on how lucky we were to have her at all. Eighteen months was never enough, but it was enough to change us forever.

I still find myself wondering who she would be today. What would she look like? What would make her laugh? Would she be stubborn like her mama? Those are answers I’ll never have, but one thing I know for sure is that she is loved just as much today as she was the day she was born.

Happy 25th birthday, my beautiful Maddie girl. Thank you for letting me be your mom, even if only for a little while. I carry you with me every single day. 💜

Smiling since the day you came into this world. You’ve been the best big sister, even when you thought you weren’t. You’ve been the best kid and one of my best friends. Oh Madelyn Hope, 23 years you’ve been gone, but this year is different. It’s hitting harder than most. You’ve had two very special people in your life come to join you, one you knew earthside and one who loved you without having ever met you. I can only hope that the three of you along with everyone else who’s ever loved you and joined you is having an amazing celebration today. It doesn’t make life on this side any easier, missing you all. But to know you’re all together. Makes my heart happy. Happy angel day my sweet girl, mama loves you more than you know. 💜
