Scale and non-scale victories today. It’s taken me about 3 years, but I’ve managed to go from 224 pounds to 158 pounds following a mostly keto/carnivore diet.
My latest bloodwork is fabulous. Cholesterol and triglycerides are way down into the normal range, inflammation is way down, joint pain, while I still have some from in my neck from an old injury from a car accident in 1994, has decreased tremendously, and I’m having to buy smaller clothes.
Because I’m in my mid-50’s, I’ve been focusing on eating more protein and it has been a real game changer for me. Women of a certain age, going through menopause need to prioritize protein in their diets and there are some simple changes you can make to hit your protein target every day.
Check out my previous posts about the protein powders I use in my daily coffee and to make my gummies I have as snacks. I also use collagen powder and MCT oil powder.
I’m really proud of myself for getting down to my goal weight even if it took a few years to do it. I’d like to get down to 150, if I can, and then focus on maintenance…
I’ve lost enough weight where I can finally wear horizontal stripes without feeling like they make me look fat. Today is a good day ☺️👍🏼
