Down the Rabbit Hole Crafts & Decor is getting a refresh—and this time, I'm taking you along for the story behind the name.
The inspiration comes from my Aunt, my Dad's only sister. She loves putting puzzles together and having them beautifully custom framed. Her puzzles are so beautifully done that you often don't realize you're looking at a puzzle until you get up close and notice all the little details. Whenever she gets completely immersed in something she's doing, she'll say, "I'm down the rabbit hole!"
Puzzles, yard work, baking, creating—you name it! And honestly, I get it. The majority of the artwork hanging in my home is actually her puzzles. They remind me of her creativity and her ability to see beauty in the details.
Creativity has always been a part of my family.
My Grandmother was an incredibly talented woman who could sew, embroider, cook, bake, do calligraphy, upholstery, and so much more. She made many of her own clothes, as well as clothes for her children and grandchildren, and even suits for my Grandaddy.
My Dad was an artist, woodworker, and all-around creative. He even made me a wooden rocking horse by hand when I was a little girl.
When I look at them, I realize that creativity wasn't just something my family did.
It was something we were.
And I truly believe that creative strand lives in me.
I love finding things others might overlook and imagining what they could become. A lampshade can become a vase. Spoons can become flower petals. A forgotten piece can become something beautiful and unexpected.
Some creations are one of a kind because they're made from unique finds. Others—like my pillows, hanging signs, and handmade décor—can be recreated and customized.
For a long time, I've allowed fear of failure to keep me from making this business the priority I know it can be.
But I'm ready to stop letting fear make that decision.
So I'm taking the leap. 🤎
Down the Rabbit Hole Crafts & Decor is a reflection of where I've come from, what I love, and what I see when I look at the world a little differently.
This refresh is about honoring the creativity that was passed down to me while finally giving myself permission to see where my own creativity can take me.
Thank you for coming along for the ride.
Let's go Down the Rabbit Hole. 🐇✨
