Recently, a homeowner shared an experience that really made me think about customer loyalty. ✨

She had chosen a specific Benjamin Moore product for her cabinetry and wanted to purchase her paint from Gateway Paint Center. 🫶🏻

However, her painting contractor preferred another brand and ultimately declined the entire project rather than accommodate her request.😧

The homeowner wasn't being asked to compromise her vision. 🎨

She was being asked to compromise where she chose to spend her money. 💵

As professionals, we can have our preferences, but shouldn't we also respect the preferences of the people hiring us? 🤝

After all, it's their home, their project, and their investment. 🏡

It's literally not even a competition at this point.....

Why are painters stubborn and afraid of change. You're literally wasting time using that other brand.

Come over and make your life easier.

That brand reduces quality so you have to buy more paint.

A Timeless Color Story 🌿

While exploring the Better Homes & Gardens Edith Gardens collection at Walmart, I noticed something familiar;

The beautiful floral patterns bear a striking resemblance to the botanical designs of William Morris, particularly his Honeysuckle & Tulip wallpaper.

What makes this even more interesting is the color palette!

The warm browns, muted greens, antique copper, and soft rosy tones found throughout the collection beautifully complement several shades in
Benjamin Moore’s newly revealed 2027 Color Trends palette.

It's a lovely reminder that design often comes full circle.

More than a century later, we're still finding new ways to enjoy the colors and patterns that have made interiors beautiful for generations.

There was a time when storefronts were designed to be more than just places to conduct business.

Beautiful architectural details, rich paint colors, decorative trim, and thoughtful craftsmanship gave even the smallest shops a sense of importance.

These buildings weren't necessarily extravagant, but they had character. They made you want to stop, look, and walk inside.

Somewhere along the way, much of that charm disappeared. Modern commercial buildings have become increasingly practical, often sacrificing architectural beauty for simplicity and efficiency.

Looking at this rendering of Gateway Paint Center, it's remarkable how traditional colors, classic molding, and a few architectural details can transform an ordinary retail storefront into something elegant and inviting.
