Posting an obituary is so final and half of Underwood RN Designs is gone. Dottie died on 5/24/2026 at age 94. I was blessed with a happy and joyous mom. She lived in wonderful memory care facility for 4+ years that kept her engaged and I visited and volunteered often. She crocheted until a few days before she died. My goal with her was to find joy in the moment, and I did that until she took her last breath with me at her bedside. If you want to read about her life, here is the link to her obituary:

Dottie fell and broke her femur. You can't keep a crocheter down though. She is still able to make her butterflies, even from her hospital room!

Add a little bling and sparkle to your plants. Each fairy wand garden stake was handmade by Dottie Underwood and we added a crochet charm to each one to give it her signature. This was a great engagement activity for my mom as she sorted through all the beads.
