— Late Qing Dynasty / Early Republic Period The Provenance & Artistry Originating from the northern Dongbei region (Manchuria), this exceptional statement piece is a masterclass in early 20th-century provincial cabinetry.
Hand-built from regional elm and pine, the facade is enveloped in a brilliant, original vermilion cinnabar lacquer finish.The double central doors and surrounding framework are adorned with meticulously hand-painted gold leaf (gilt) detailing, showcasing traditional Chinoiserie narrative motifs of flora, butterflies, and scrolling geometric key borders.
Originally serving as a prominent family altar table, this piece effortlessly bridges the gap between historical relic and functional modern art.
