✨ Reimagining Sacred Spaces — Just for Inspiration ✨
What if a familiar church interior could be transformed into something richer, warmer, and more visually inspiring—while still honoring its original spirit?
In this digital rendering, we explored a reimagined sanctuary featuring:
• Warm, hand-crafted tones and decorative wall finishes
• New sanctuary furnishings and baldacchino
• Complimentary color accents and designs
• A more immersive and reverent visual atmosphere
This is part of a new creative series where we take existing spaces and re-envision them through our decorative painting and digital design lens.
⚠️ An Important Note: No physical work is planned or proposed for this space. This is purely a creative exercise for inspiration and exploration—a way to showcase what could be possible through thoughtful design and craftsmanship.
We’ll be sharing more concepts like this soon—each one pushing the boundaries of how sacred and historic spaces can be visually elevated.
Stay tuned for the next reimagining.

So much progress has been made, yet there is still much more to be done.

Each week brings this beautiful church one step closer to its renewed vision. From the decorative finishes and architectural detailing to the sanctuary enhancements and sacred artwork, countless hours of craftsmanship have already transformed the space. The celestial ceiling in the sanctuary apse, ornamental stenciling, gilded accents, and renewed liturgical elements are beginning to come together, revealing the beauty that has long been hidden beneath the years.

While there is still work ahead, it is exciting to see the transformation taking shape. We are grateful for the opportunity to help preserve and enhance this sacred space for future generations of worshipers.

Stay tuned as we continue to share updates on this remarkable restoration and renewal project.

Before, during, and after the renewal of the Stations of the Cross at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels, Texas.

Our team at Ecclesiastical Studios & Sons was honored to restore and renew these sacred devotional works through a detailed renewal process. Each station was carefully cleaned, touched up, and reshaded using airbrush techniques to bring depth and life back to the figures. We also applied new gold gilding, repainted the backgrounds with a richer deeper blue, installed new mounting hardware, and designed and constructed custom Gothic wood frames to enhance the overall presentation of the stations.

It is always a privilege to help preserve the beauty and tradition of sacred art for future generations.

We’re honored to share that Don Wendt of Ecclesiastical Studios & Sons was recently featured in the American Painting Contractor Magazine discussing the sacred craft and traditional techniques behind proper plaster restoration.

Drawing from decades of experience restoring historic Catholic churches, Don shares why true plaster repair is far more than simply patching cracks — it’s about preserving history, craftsmanship, and the integrity of these sacred spaces for future generations. From conditioning failing plaster and applying traditional multi-coat methods to matching original textures and finishes, the article highlights the importance of doing restoration work the right way.

At Ecclesiastical Studios & Sons, preserving historic church interiors through traditional craftsmanship has been a lifelong mission passed down through generations of the Wendt family.
