Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001.
Among them were 343 firefighters and FDNY paramedics, 60 police officers, 8 EMTs/paramedics, and 2,566 civilians.
They were mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. They were people who went to work that morning and never made it home.
We remember their courage.
We remember their sacrifice.
We remember the families who were forever changed.
25 years later, we will never forget.
