Aloha friends!

September 2025, my husband retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. To celebrate one year of retirement let's make his old uniforms into something he can use.

Upcycling uniforms is nothing new. Over the years we've taken pieces and made them into book covers, pants, bandanas and, more for personal use or Command fundraisers. This one felt different. Not only was it specifically for my husband's use. There is no more "I'm getting a new one". What we have is it.

My 'ohana has a long tradition of military service. Grandparents on both sides, my father and brother, many cousins, countless uncles and aunties. I'm deeply proud of their conviction to serve and accomplishments. There are many aspects of military life that change through the years. The single constant? The person wearing the uniform is deeply loved by those waiting for their safe return.

saw a video about haupia drizzle last night and....couldn't stop thinking about it. my boys have been asking for pancakes. it was like the menu came from above. I had extra cans of coconut milk and half a Portuguese Sausage to use.

Haupia Pancakes with SPAM and Portuguese Sausage anyone? even busted out the Hawaiian Sun Passion Orange drink mix.

Aloha! Hele mai. Spend the day with me.

First priority, getting back into daily movement. No excuses now the boys are back in school. Second, we had to drive into town for errand anyway. Decided to check out a new food spot and see if it meets this standards. (Hint: da buggha was aurai)

We visited our favorite Bullseye store to handle a return and get things of da hale. Hubby and I had our and pē got a treat too. Afterwards was a whirlwind. We end our day with a gorgeous sunset and hope for an amazing tomorrow 🌺

Aloha! Come along as my 'ohana tries Mo' Bettahs Hawaiian Style Food in Waxahachie, TX.

If you're new, hi! I'm Leolana, your ETX forever lei maker. I'm a PROUD local girl from beautiful Kāne'ohe (He'eia). We've been seeing around and, since we were in the city, decided to try for lunch today.

Walking in we were greeted by my beloved Ko'olau Mountains. The restaurant set up is similar to Chipotle. Their menu is simple but, has choices for everyone. Plates are offered in 3 sizes. We each got a Mini Plate for $10.99 each. That gave us 2 entree choices with a side of rice and Mac salad or steamed veggies. I had Teri Chicken and Kalua Pig. My hubby chose Kalua Pig and Chicken Katsu. We shared a regular POG.

The food was great! Nice fat ratio on the Kalua Pig and the chicken was sauce well. Only misses for me were the heavy vinegar and spice on the katsu sauce and dry rice. Decor was great! Think Kua 'Aina vibes. I'd definitely go back fo' grind🤙🤙🤙

Mabank Farmer's Market

after months away we made it back to our "home market" for the BIG ONE!

it was a HOT one. thankful for market friends, old and new. lei loving customers. ® fans, ice packs and, cold drinks. helpful booth neighbors that jump into action when things start flying! early tear downs and MAX A/C!
