Superb Original American Revolutionary War Colonial New England Club Butt Flintlock Militia Musket, .75 cal smoothbore, mfg. circa 1775. This is a stunning Revolutionary War American musket in fantastic original condition. The club butt style is unique to New England; particularly Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Eastern New York, with this example having likely been assembled in Massachusetts right at the start of the conflict. It is primarily built around Spanish Model 1757 infantry musket components consisting of it's lock, barrel, sideplate, triggerguard, and buttplate. Spanish Model 1757 muskets were shipped to the colonies by the thousands for the patriot cause with many arriving in Massachusetts as early as 1775 and more brought in through Spanish occupied Louisiana territory later in the war. This is one of the better Revolutionary War American muskets we have had and is worthy of the finest collection or museum. The originality, beautifully preserved appearance, and classic profile would be difficult to improve upon.

Important Smith & Wesson Model No. 1 Second Issue Pocket Revolver Inscribed to Civil War Officer First Lieutenant Caleb Slocum of the 35th New York Infantry Regiment, .22 Cal, mfg. circa 1861. This is a fantastic piece of history owned and carried by a celebrated officer of the 35th New York who participated in some of the most famous battles of the American Civil War. Caleb Slocum was born in Le Ray, New York on August 30th 1833 and enlisted as a private in Company A of the 35th New York Volunteer Infantry on June 11th 1861. Known as the "Jefferson County Regiment" companies A and E of the 35th were raised in Watertown, New York, of which this pistol is inscribed suggesting it was given to Slocum as a going away gift at the time of his enlistment. Slocum was promoted to Second Lieutenant on December 12th, 1862 and to First Lieutenant on February 9th, 1863. To quote the book A Short History of The Slocums in America - "Caleb, born 30th of 8th mo., 1833. He enlisted against the Rebellion 11 June, 1861, as private in Co. A, 35th Reg. N. Y. V. I. ; was gradually promoted, and at the close of his two years term of enlistment was honorably discharged as First Lieutenant. He participated in the battles of Manassas, 2nd Bull Run, Chantilly, South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Rappahannock, White Sulphur Springs, and Groveton, and in numerous skirmishes". Slocum was mustered out on June 5th 1863 and went home to Le Ray where he resided until his death on May 17th, 1897.

Rare & Important American Revolutionary War Colonial New England Flintlock Long Fowler/Militia Musket, 20 gauge smoothbore (.61 Cal), mfg. circa 1730-1760. This is the epitome of what a minuteman would have carried into battle during the beginning of the American Revolution at Lexington & Concord or Bunker Hill; an early civilian fowler that was deliberately altered for military use by cutting the stock back at the muzzle and adding a bayonet lug.

American Civil War Burnside Percussion Breechloading Cavalry Carbine Attributed to the 16th Illinois, .54 Cal, mfg. circa 1863-1865. This is a good original Civil War issue Burnside carbine fresh to the collector market from an old local estate. One of the regiments known to have carried the Burnside was the 16th Illinois Cavalry and a faint military block style "16" stamped on the left side of the stock may represent an association with this unit. The 16th Illinois was assembled throughout the spring and summer of 1863 and notably participated in the battles of Franklin and Nashville among others.

Very Rare & Unique Engraved Solid Nickel Silver Belgian Lefaucheux Style Pinfire Belt Revolver with Ebony Grips, Converted to Centerfire, 11mm CF, mfg. circa 1860's. This is an extremely unusual gun and a first for us. While we occasionally encounter pistols of single shot or pepperbox form with solid nickel silver frames this is the first entirely solid silver revolver we have seen. The frame, barrel, cylinder, and gripstraps are solid nickel silver with only the hammer, trigger, front sight, and lanyard ring made of iron. A really neat piece with great eye appeal. I certainly don't expect to see another like it anytime soon!
