Hello to all my NVKers out there.

First - my sincere apologies for not posting more often in recent months. I've been working hard to take care of all the personal issues related to my husband's passing last October. Even though we were prepared in many ways, there's nothing that makes it totally easy to handle. I am happy to say that I think I'm at the finish line, at least for this first chapter.

That said...

I had already booked a few events starting at the end of April, but had a setback last week that forced me to reconsider my business plans moving forward.

After 6 months of running on empty, my body is fighting back and shutting me down - I'm dealing with a rapid onset loss of stable mobility, is the easy explanation.

So, physically I'm too weak to haul, set up, tear down, or even be on my feet for more than short periods.

So I will not be proceeding with the business for at least the rest of this year, or possibly permanently.

But...

My loss is your gain 😉

I'm selling the entire product inventory for 40-50% off now. I'm also looking for bulk buyers for extract and paste (tag your favorite baker/bakery 😉).

I will be in and out of the area during the next months, so I will post windows of shipping opportunities as they come up.

First window needs to be shipped by next Friday 17 April.

If you're in the Dyersburg/Ripley/Halls area, we can arrange a pickup or meeting.

Again - thank you so much for being such wonderful customers these last 3 years. I've appreciated all our interactions and will miss seeing you across the table 😔

Due to circumstances beyond my control, the Kitchen has had a slow start to events this year.

To my customers in the Martin area, or Union City, Paris..

I'm meeting a customer Tuesday morning 24 Feb at 11:30 at the Five Below in Union City to drop off an order with her. If anyone would like to place an order and come and pick it up at that time in UC, please let me know. Let me know what you want, and we'll make arrangements for an exchange.

So...(longish post ahead 😉)

I've been pretty quiet here as it relates to The Kitchen and what is coming up for 2026. It's time to give you all an update.

For those who might not know, my husband passed away last October at our home in Texas. After taking care of the immediate issues there, I returned to TN and finished out my scheduled events for 2025.

I returned to TX just after Christmas to start the longer process: wills, probate, packing up another home to get sold...

And I also had surgery on my right hand (which was scheduled months ago), but has limited what I can get finished before returning to TN.

So I'll be back in TN the beginning of Feb, returning to TX mid March to finish the move, get a post-surgery okay from the surgeon, get the house sold.

As you might guess, all this has taken precedence over NVK at the moment. Spring events are already starting to book and advertise - Springtime in Paris, Blooming Arts in Linden, etc. I will not be able to attend any of them at the moment - both because of these other responsibilities and needing time to allow my hand to fully heal before I start hauling boxes or raising canopies 😉.

I also need to take a mental health break after that is all done and reassess...well, everything.

So many of you here have repeatedly purchased my products, and I'm incredibly grateful. I want you to know that I will be happy to ship your goods or arrange a meeting if we can work out a location.

I promise I will be back on the circuit as soon as possible. Please message me and let me know if you need anything from the store. We'll get it worked out.

You guys are the best!
