Fog between the panes? That’s usually a failed window seal, not ordinary room humidity. 🪟

Here’s how to tell: room-side condensation sits on the glass surface and can usually be wiped away. Haze trapped between the panes can’t be reached or cleaned from either side. It means the insulated glass seal has failed.

Unfortunately, the failed seal itself can’t be fixed with a simple repair. The sealed glass unit may need replacing; if the frame is damaged, drafty, or outdated, replacing the whole window may make more sense.

Why take a closer look? A failed seal can let insulating gas escape and moisture in, reducing the window’s insulating performance. And if you feel drafts, worn weatherstripping or gaps around the frame may be adding to heat loss, and your energy bills.

He asked if he needed new windows. Honest answer? Nope. 🏠

Full exterior on this home, minus the windows. We looked at almost every window in the house and didn't think he needed them. Leading with integrity might not pay on this job, but it pays over time. There's no reason to upsell anybody.

✅ Use plastic light clips made for rooflines and gutters. Skip nails, staples, and screws. Every hole can become a path for water.

✅ Never walk on cold shingles. Low temperatures can make them brittle and more likely to crack.

Not here. We pulled this whole run of fascia, we're replacing it and wrapping it in metal. Bad, waterlogged boards mean the screws holding your gutter may not hold. It's in our paperwork: bad boards get replaced, because we will not do bad work to hit a price.
