If abstract art is anything it's a constant experiment. There are some things I love about this painting and other things that I think need some work. Crackle paste is an excellent tool but in many ways learning how to use it is a skill in itself. I plan to go over a couple sections of this painting with another layer of it and see what it looks like tomorrow.

Finished!!

Sometimes it's hard to learn when to stop. I achieved a plateau of inspiration in the life of this painting several times only to lose it by attempting to drive the painting forward when it was better left alone. Learning when to stop is a hard balancing act to perfect but I think with this one im pretty satisfied with the result. And I learned some new skills while painting it which is an added bonus for me.

I love mistakes!!

Do you see the mistakes in this painting? I do, very clearly. There are entire sections that I see as blunders that I now have to go back and correct. But that's okay. Because I know that I will learn from my mistakes more than from anything else. I also know that the mistakes are when the breakthrough is just about to take place. Continuing to move forward and forge another path is the way to achieve the inspiration im reaching for.
