Intracoastal Interiors

Designer… Dreamweaver… whatever you’d like to call it 🤍😉

I kept the majority of the Intracoastal Interiors office bright white, so that as I source fabrics and finishes for clients, I’m not dealing with a competing palette pulling colors one way or another. So naturally, when it came to the bathroom I decided to have a little fun!

I’d always wanted to use this super vibrant, richly detailed wallpaper, and my little country barn turned fabulous design office seemed like the perfect place for it.

In keeping with the simple, country nature of the building and it’s surroundings, I found an antique wash stand to repurpose as our vanity and made sure to spec a wall-mounted faucet to limit the amount of space we’d have to take from the footprint of an already small room. An arched top medicine cabinet flanked by blue and gold marbled sconces provides additional storage.

Although the office is a small space, I’m happy I pushed some boundaries here and gave our clients a snapshot of what’s possible.

Up next, I’ll share some before and afters, plans and processes…

Continuing on with the tour of the Intracoastal Interiors office, I’m sharing the kitchenette today.

I had just enough space for a couple cabinets and a little refrigerator, all I really needed, but I knew I wanted this small spot to bring a little oomph.

Panda marble countertops were the perfect way to bring that drama with their intense, high-contrast veining and movement. Even though this marble had a lot of contrast, I like that it still had a soft cream background with hints of green. Playing off that, I ironically chose to paint the cabinets in Sherwin Williams Panda White, which ended up being the perfect match in both name and hue for the soft whites in the marble.

Lime green ceramic k***s bring the party to the cabinet fronts, while the extended height backsplash undulates down in little waves on either side. A detail I just couldn’t resist at the eleventh hour 💚

Welcome to Intracoastal Interiors’ office!

I used to have my office in a commercial space and I was so proud of that accomplishment. We had three offices, a conference room, a storage room and a lobby. But, I found myself resisting going there like the plague. Working under fluorescent lights with the sound of other offices above, in a space that wasn’t truly my own never quite felt like the right fit.

So a couple years ago, I decided to do something I’d always envisioned and renovate an old woodworking barn on my property to create our new studio.

Now, I walk across the yard with a steaming cup of coffee in the mornings, the sunrise streaming over the Intracoastal behind me and the birds singing, and start creating my client’s dream homes from a place that feels like home. A space full of calm and creativity.

Stay tuned this week for more of the reveal!

Here I Am! 👋🏼

I’ll be sharing photos from a long overdue shoot of Intracoastal Interiors’ office over the next week or so, but first, allow me to re-introduce myself.

I’m Jenny, the owner and designer of Intracoastal Interiors. I started the business in 2017 after the birth of my first child, and quickly realized I was always meant to be my own boss (I’m an Aries… iykyk). I now have two cute kids, a funny and helpful husband, and the sweetest Goldendoodle, Sugar.

I love art, architecture, and travel. Some of my favorite trips have been to tour architectural landmarks, such as the Ossipoff House in Honolulu (where I lived for 4 years after college), and the Glass House in New Canaan, CT. I have a love for mid-century architecture, and would love to have a project in a mid-century home. I like to mix newer architecture with antique furnishings, particularly English and American pine pieces which always remind me of my home state North Carolina, home of the longleaf pine.

Asian food of any kind (sushi, Thai, pho!) is my favorite cuisine (I’ve even eaten 1000 year egg soup! 👀), and I love tropical (but really all) flowers. When I’m not on site or in the office, you can usually catch me at the beach, on a boat, or looking out the window in search of hummingbirds.

See you next week for the office reveal! 🤍
