We are experiencing some difficulties in sourcing our candle jars. We source our jars from Libbey Glassworks in Toledo Ohio, and their workers have been on strike since August while they negotiate a fair contract, leading to supply shortages. We fully support the Libbey glassworkers in their effort to negotiate fair terms with Libbey Glassworks. However, this has forced us to look for other suppliers in the meantime. We have sourced a new jar that is similar to our old ones, except that they are slightly larger, frosted glass instead of clear, and with bamboo lids instead of our typical bronze. This leads to increased cost and therefore an increased sale price. As firm believers in keeping cost to our customers reasonable this was an unfortunate necessity. Our new candles will cost $20 but will come with an increased size and an expected burn time of 60-65 hours. We hope that the unions and Libbey Glassworks can come to an agreement soon and when their products become available we will switch back to our standard options and pricing. In the meantime, thank you for bearing with us in navigating this situation.
