At the Lyons' Den... Telephones!
You can find the grandparents and great grandparents of today’s telephones.
Did you know.... the 'Bryant Pond Telephone Company', located in Bryant Pond, Maine, was the last hand-crank telephone system in the United States to be decommissioned. The system was shut down on October 11, 1983, as the village transitioned to dial-tone telephones.
The Lyons' Den Antiques shop originally opened its doors in Bryant Pond in 1964. The shop's phone number was "1 ring 8" until it moved to Hanover in 1971.

Some of these feathered critters have flown off to their forever homes, while new members have joined the flock.

At the Lyons’ Den… SCHOOL SUPPLIES OF DAYS GONE BY!

School bells are ringing, loud and clear;
Vacation’s over, school is here.
We gather our pencils and our books,
And say goodbye to fields and brooks,
To carefree days of sunny hours,
To birds, butterflies and flowers.
But we are glad school has begun,
Where work is always mixed with fun.
When autumn comes and the weather is cool,
Nothing can take the place of school.
