Marking tiles are great…until you realize you want MORE of them. 😂

Buying multiple sets can get expensive pretty quickly, so I make my own instead!

It's simple, inexpensive, and I can make as many as I need for organizing quilt pieces.

I'm always looking for places where I can save money on quilting so I can spend it on the things I actually want. You know…like fabric. 😂🧵

Do you NEED quilting gloves to quilt on your domestic machine? Nope! 🙌

But are they nice to have? I think so.

I like the extra grip they give me when I'm moving a quilt around under my machine, so these are the gloves I reach for when I'm quilting on my domestic machine.

They're one of those little things that aren't necessary — but can make quilting a little easier.

Did you know those little colored icons on the edge of your fabric actually have a purpose? 👀

They show the colors used in the fabric print — and they can be a super easy guide when you're looking through your stash for coordinating fabrics.

No complicated color theory required. Just check the selvage and start matching! 🧵✂️

I’ve had several comments about the Bernina you see me quilting on, so I thought I’d show you where I actually started.
My mom bought me this Kenmore in 1998. I carried it with me through moves all over the country and used it as my only sewing machine until 2012.
That year I bought a Janome on Amazon, and THAT was the machine I learned to free-motion quilt on. I didn’t get my Bernina until 2021.
So if you’re looking at other quilters’ beautiful machines and thinking you need one before you can really quilt—you don’t.
Use the machine you have. Make the quilt. ❤️
