Its always fun to go to more than one store when you are junkin, antiquing, thrifting, whatever you call it!
Remember, the egg krate in elkhorn is a short drive from harlan. Also walnut antique stores and then head to l Atlantic and there is the holy grail, and they have a good thrift store called new hope! Also check out all the other small stores in the towns you visit on your junkin trips!

Look at this spreader I found the other day! I have never seen one like this. I thought it was homemade at first. Its in great shape and it works! It would look cute in a fall set up outside in between uses 😄

I always open the old books and cookbooks when I get them to see what year they are and if there are any notes or anything.
This book was a Christmas gift to Meta from momma( i think that's what it says) look at the date😳 Christmas 1917! Almost 109 years ago this book was a Christmas gift for someone. 109 YEARS!! Old stuff amazes me. Just holding it and thinking about someone reading this from a time that I cant even imagine. We can now read books right here on our phones. But im sure this gift was so exciting to who received it in 1917. Back when reading a book was a big thing. There were no TV'S no electronics, kids had to entertain themselves.
No one will ever convince me new stuff is better than the antiques and vintage items.
This book will be going home with me to my little collection of really old books I have. I love the way it has aged too.
