We finished these two king sized quilts a few months ago for a family friend on her birthday. She’s in college and just got them a few days ago on a surprise trip to see her family! We’ve said it before but we love making quilts and seeing what all people were involved in either in high school or college!

Bev designed the Tiffany blue one and Jaclyn sewed it together: needless to say Jaclyn has to make sure designs are easy to sew from now on because this one was a literal puzzle to sew but it was a great challenge!

Three more quilts are on their way to their new home! Two are memory quilts for Kelly and her daughter, Lakyn, in honor of Kelly’s late father, and the other is a tshirt quilt for Lakyn who graduated in 2018. Bev was so happy to get to be creative with using a drop-shadow style around the shirts on Kelly’s quilt. We’re taking a minor break to give Jaclyn some time to complete some job applications and work on some projects for the house but we’ll be back very soon for more things!

We’ve been quiet but we’ve been busy! Finally getting some quilts finished that Jaclyn brought back with her from Texas and getting them sent off soon! Also completed two KING sized quilts for someone’s birthday surprise. After they make their arrival to their new home, we’ll post the finished products!

We’ve said a lot that we learn new things each quilt, and we learned a few weeks ago it’s MUCH easier to cut shirts down using a large cutting ruler. The latest quilts we’re making are both kings and we have almost 100 items to cut out. With the square, it’s taken 2 half days to get them all cut!
