Have you ever been somewhere and you stop and think oh wow it’s so quiet here? I personally think it’s something that our ancestors had a lot more of that than we could possibly dream of. Modern technology has wrecked havoc on our quiet time. Every day I wake up to nothing but noise. You’ve got a fridge running, ice maker dumping, fans blowing, tv or radio blaring and the list could continue for days. Now think about the last time you just sat in silence. I always thought my momma had the quietest house I have ever been in and I asked her one day how she stood it. She looked up and said Tami all my life I’ve been in and out of this door, raising a family, helping your Daddy run a farm and just basically trying to survive. I think it’s time for me to focus on the Lord because he tells us to be still and know that I am God. As I age I understand a little more of what she was trying to tell me. Our world is a crazy place right now and I personally don’t want that in my home . I want to think of my past and present and obey the Lord to look at my future. So today when you get up, take notice of all the unnecessary noise , and decide if you can give yourself and the Lord a little time for quietness.
