Even candles need a little TLC sometimes! Keep your candle in it's best shape to get the maximum burn time and scent throw! Ensuring the melt pool reaches the edge of the jar on the first burn allows your candle to burn evenly until it reaches the bottom and prevents what's called tunneling. Tunneling leaves wax on the sides unburned and can eventually cause too much build up near the wick, extinguishing the flame. Trimming the wick each time keeps your flame at just the right height and temperature, and prevents sparks from any loose residue left from the previous burn. Finally, limiting each burn to 4 hours extends the life of your candle and keeps the jar from getting overheated. "Power burning," or burns over 4 hours, can lead to unsafe conditions, so set a reminder on your phone when you light your candle!
