I’ve learned to appreciate my journey the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Every step helped shape me into the woman I am today. I’m proud of my growth, my resilience, and the strength I’ve found along the way. I’m celebrating who I am, while embracing the woman I’m still becoming. Moving with intention, choosing peace, and leading with love. Life isn’t perfect, but it’s meaningful, and I’m learning to enjoy every moment, appreciate how far I’ve come, and stay open to all the good still ahead. This season is about growth, gratitude, and living life fully with a grateful heart and good intentions.

I came to this country as a teenager
no mother’s covering,
no father’s protection,
no roadmap, just me and God.
So I became my own safety.
My own discipline.
My own example.
I learned early that if nobody was going to guard my peace, I would.
If nobody was going to protect my name, I would.
If nobody was going to guide my character, I would shape it myself.
While other people were just growing up…
I was growing strong.
I didn’t know I was being watched.
I didn’t know my younger cousins were studying the way I walked into rooms.
I didn’t know my younger clients were paying attention to how I spoke, how I carried myself, how I refused to fold.
I wasn’t trying to be a role model.
I was trying to survive.
Trying to find me.
Trying to become a woman I could respect.
But in becoming her…
I became an example.
I’ve cried real tears.
The kind you wipe away and still show up the next day.
I’ve known heartbreak that could’ve hardened me but instead it refined me.
I’ve taken losses.
I’ve celebrated wins.
I’ve walked through seasons that would’ve broken some people.
But I’m still here.
Still standing.
Still evolving.
Still becoming.
Do I have everything I once dreamed of? No. But I have wisdom now.
I have boundaries now.
I have peace now.
And that’s priceless.
The woman I am today is proud.
Proud of the teenage girl who protected herself when nobody else did.
Proud of the young woman who chose dignity over distraction.
Proud of the grown woman who refuses to settle.
And the future?
It’s not something I fear anymore.
It’s something I’m walking toward
with grace, with softness, with power.
Because I didn’t just grow older.
I grew deeper.
I grew wiser.
I grew intentional.
And that right there?
That’s a blessing.

Grateful for another year of life. Thank you, God, for keeping me, covering me, and blessing me in ways seen and unseen. I may not have everything I once thought I needed, but I recognize how truly blessed I am.
I am thankful for happiness, for peace, and for the security of knowing who I am. My heart carries no envy and no ill feelings toward anyone. I don’t keep people in my heart who are no longer meant for my journey, but I move forward in life according to how I am treated with understanding, boundaries, and peace.
I am content. I am at peace with my surroundings, my journey, and my becoming. Thank you, God, for everything that has shaped me into who I am today.
