I've been hard at work making fun clothing, accessories, and wall art for Back Alley Hempfest in Saluda on Sunday 4/29!

I've been enjoying making scrappy festival-style tops, jackets, and skirts, as well as a few pieces that can be worn multiple ways! I've also got some fun 420 art, hair accessories and wool dreadlocks, and I'm still creating!

Like anything you see? Want something similar, but in a different colorway or style? Send me a message! I LOVE making custom items!!

I spent the last week dyeing a few pounds of fiber and have just carded up the first crazy art batt! I am soooo excited to spin this up!! But first, I've got five more 8oz batts to card! 🐑🎨

The fibers include dog fur, silk, firestar, and wool locks, and bamboo. I carded in tons of mix-ins including ribbon bits, tinsel pieces, angelina, short lengths of yarn, and wool nepps! 🐕🧶🎄🌟

I've been working on commissions nonstop since May, so it's really fun to be doing something for myself!! 😁🎄🎅🧶

I've finished the second single for my first batch of keeshond fur! This was well over a pound total, so 9+ ounces per single.

I'm excited to ply these singles together!

But first, I'll be spinning the second half of Clancy, the fluffy trick dog - Keeshond 's fluff! What a special boy he was!! I'm so honored to be able to memorialize him with some artwork! 🥰🐶🐾🧶🥰

I've been busily spinning away since the TdF started! I'm working on the keeshond chiengora yarn first, and while I've made a lot of progress, I wish it were going a little faster... 🐶🧶 Working with clumps of dog fur is much slower than working with roving or a sliver, but I love the variance in color and texture that are highlighted with this style of spinning!

Here is the single I've spun this last week. This bobbin can hold two pounds of yarn, so looking at it this way is much more satisfying than looking into the basket at what is left to spin... 😅

Clearly, I am terrible at posting! I'd much rather be spinning, crocheting, dyeing, CREATING!!

But I'm going to be posting a lot more, at least for the next month! Tomorrow is the beginning of this year's Tour de Fleece! Every year, spinners worldwide spin their wheels alongside the athletes in the Tour de France!

I'm starting today because I have a lot of commissions to work on! This year, I'll be focusing on spinning dog fur yarn (chiengora is the fancy name for it!)

I have 1.6 pounds of keeshond, 9.4 ounces of shepherd mix, and 6.4 ounces of chow chow fur.

I love spinning dog fur into yarn, especially when it's for a memorial project! There is nothing so precious and meaningful as being able to present someone with a piece of art made with their beloved family member's hair.

I'm excited for the Tour de Fleece, and I can't wait to work my way through this gorgeous fluff!

Silver's grandmother introduced her to fiber arts very early in life, and her love and passion for them has continued to grow. After more than 20 years crocheting, she decided to give spinning yarn a try and quickly found her niche! Silver dyes, cards, spins, crochets, weaves, upcycles clothing, and is constantly trying and learning new things! Silver creates hand-dyed and handspun yarns and art yarns along with hand-dyed clothing. She's always up for a challenge, so if you've got a special request in mind, let her know! She loves making fiber dreams come true!
